Gen Zers and millennials are relocating to different cities and states across the U.S. and it's a decision that real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran supports. ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Legislature kicked off debate Thursday on whether the state should join the list of those that allow physician-assisted suicide. Ten states and the District of Columbia already allow some form of physician-assisted suicide, while proponents are planning fresh pushes to pass it this year in several other states. Patients would have to have the mental capacity to make their own health care decisions and provide informed consent, so those with dementia would not qualify. “Suicide is not health care. Current law already gives people the right to make legally binding end-of-care health care directives, the right to hospice and palliative care, and the right to refuse care, she said.

Having imposter syndrome isn't fun — but it can be the key to unlocking your potential, according to Barbara Corcoran. In a recent TikTok video, the 74-year-old real estate millionaire said professionals should be grateful to have such self-doubt. "If you're struggling with imposter syndrome, good for you," she said. When you make it a habit to try harder than your peers, you'll inadvertently build self-assurance, Corcoran said. Corcoran, a co-star on ABC's "Shark Tank," even looks for imposter syndrome among the show's contestants — so she can prioritize investing in their companies.

The gag order from District Judge Tanya Chutkan restricts Trump’s ability to publicly target court personnel, potential witnesses, special counsel Jack Smith and his staff. The appeals court has temporarily frozen the gag order as Trump continues to contest it. “The Gag Order violates President Trump’s most fundamental First Amendment rights. The former president was recently under a gag order in the $250 million New York state civil fraud case. “The entire Gag Order rests on an unconstitutional ‘heckler’s veto’ theory, so it is overbroad in its entirety.”Trump’s arguments were not persuasive when he tried to have Chutkan pause the gag order while his appeal unfolded.

REUTERS/Mike Segar/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - A lawsuit filed on Monday accuses the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) and more than two dozen brokerages and companies of conspiring to artificially inflate commissions paid to agents who help sell residential real estate in Manhattan. That verdict, which a judge can triple to more than $5.3 billion, could upend decades-old practices that require sellers to pay commissions to buyers' brokers. March said it is unclear whether this would result in lower commissions, or delay sales while buyers' brokers negotiate with sellers. But at the time, Kaplan didn't seem like the right fit for the sales position she'd applied for, Corcoran said. Corcoran recalled watching Kaplan take the card and place it within a meticulously organized purse, complete with labeled partitions. "With a mind like that, I knew I wanted my business in her purse," said Corcoran.

And yet, every day, people across America hire a real estate agent to help them sell a home. While state governments license real estate agents, NAR has an extensive code of ethics it expects members to adhere to. NAR and the brokerages have vowed to appeal the verdict, which means real estate commissions aren’t going anywhere immediately. Last month Redfin, an internet real estate company, left the association. The longer-term impact of the verdict may be that the pairing of buyer’s agent commission and seller’s agent commission will eventually be separated.

The verdict by a federal jury in Kansas City, Missouri, could upend decades-old practices that have allowed real estate agents to boost commissions as home prices and mortgage rates rise, hurting consumers by making housing transactions more expensive. Plaintiffs in the class action included sellers of more than 260,000 homes in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois between 2015 and 2022, who objected to the commissions they were obligated to pay buyers' brokers. The verdict followed a two-week trial, and the damages award can be tripled under U.S. antitrust law to more than $5.3 billion. Shares of real estate brokerages not involved in the verdict closed lower. Re/Max fell 4.4% and Anywhere fell 2.7%, while online brokers Zillow Group (ZG.O) and Redfin (RDFN.O) declined 6.9% and 5.7%, respectively.

When James and Johanna Windon launched Buena Papa two years ago, they had just $18 in their bank account. Now, they bring in millions of dollars in annual revenue across three North Carolina restaurant locations, they said on Friday's episode of ABC's "Shark Tank" — during which they landed a $400,000 investment offer from millionaire entrepreneur Robert Herjavec. Despite no prior restaurant experience, the pair "invested our life savings [of] $40,000," leaving just $18 behind, James said. Mark Cuban opted out, citing the difficulty of simultaneously operating restaurant locations and overseeing any number of franchisees. That left Robert Herjavec, who offered the Windons $400,000 for 20% of Buena Papa.
