BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Deion Sanders doesn’t want anyone sleeping on what's happening with his reconstructed Colorado Buffaloes. Who wants to stay up until 8 o'clock for a darn game?” Sanders said on his weekly radio show. When the Buffaloes (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) played Colorado State on Sept. 16 — kickoff was at 8:21 p.m. Mountain — the game didn’t finish until 12:25 a.m. One thing Sanders is a fan of: Stanford (1-4, 0-3) and first-year Cardinal coach Troy Taylor. Colorado boasts five of the eight top-watched college football games this season in terms of viewership, according to research provided from the school.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Bo Nix threw three touchdown passes and No. 10 Oregon emphatically slammed the brakes on Coach Prime's “Cinderella story,” routing No. But the Ducks' defense sacked Shedeur Sanders on third down, pushing him back 16 years, and Colorado again was forced to punt. Colorado avoided the shutout with Shedeur Sanders' a 6-yard pass to Michael Harrison. Colorado had minus-33 rushing yards in the half — due in part by Oregon’s four sacks on Shedeur Sanders — and just 35 for the game.

ON A LATE summer day at Noble Rot, a restaurant and wine bar on Central London’s Lamb’s Conduit Street, I met one of England’s most distinguished legal professionals for lunch. Helena Kennedy, KC (indicating King’s Counsel, the most senior ranking of barristers, or trial attorneys) sipped Champagne and glanced at the next table where another barrister had draped his black gown over a spare chair. BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Deion Sanders stood up for Henry Blackburn on Tuesday after the Colorado State safety received death threats for a late hit that sent Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter to the hospital with a lacerated liver. Sanders said he has forgiven Blackburn and so has Hunter, who doesn’t have a definitive timeline for a return. “Henry Blackburn is a good player who played a phenomenal game,” said Sanders, whose 19th-ranked Buffaloes (3-0) travel to No. “I’m saddened if there’s any of our fans, that’s on the other side of those threats," Sanders said. It was the most-watched late-night college football game ever on ESPN, the network said.

Now rich individuals have to compete with institutional investors like private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds for a limited number of teams. Their new platform is cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global (COIN.O), which on Aug. 16 became the first crypto-focused firm to win approval to offer cryptocurrency futures to U.S. retail customers. Yet, trading volumes in derivatives decreased by nearly 13% in July to $1.85 trillion, the lowest monthly volume since December 2022 and second lowest derivatives trading volumes since 2021, research firm CCData reported. Derivatives made up 78.2% of the total cryptocurrency trading volume on centralized exchanges in July, CCData reported. Spot cryptocurrency trading volumes also fell 10.5% to $515 billion in the same period, CCData showed. This essentially means that there is potential for growth in derivatives trading.

To film buffs who are buffs, specifically, of film — of movies shot and projected with a physical, photochemical product — comparing IMAX 70-millimeter to IMAX digital, let alone standard digital, is like comparing lightning to the lightning bug. “It’s how much of the image you’re missing if you see it on another screen,” said Birlidis, a former theater manager. The first time he saw the 1982 film “Blade Runner,” one of his favorites, he added, was on a pirated VHS tape. He can cite several IMAX 70-millimeter destinations off-the-cuff. (The AMC Metreon in San Francisco is “a wonderfully huge screen.”) He knew Brooklyn has one of the roughly 100 theaters showing “Oppenheimer” in ordinary 70-millimeter film — an “absolutely beautiful” print, he said.

Tourists who pause outside Federal Hall, a Wall Street memorial maintained by the U.S. National Park Service, will find its neoclassical facade covered in scaffolding. But until July 22, the man himself can be found inside, fussing over his dentures, his sleep and his coming inauguration. “Oh, hon,” his wife, Martha, says. The project began when Marie Salerno, the chief executive officer of Federal Hall, and Lynn Goldner, a producer, were strategizing how to raise the memorial’s profile ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026. Where Federal Hall stands (the original hall was demolished in 1812) was the site of Washington’s inauguration and the first Capitol building.

Simple, Satisfying 3-Ingredient Barbecue Sauces
  + stars: | 2023-06-27 | by ( Steven Raichlen | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: 1 min
South Carolina’s contribution to regional American barbecue is mustard sauce. Barbecue buffs — from Columbia, S.C., through Georgia, and in parts of Kentucky and Florida — understand the wonders that mustard can work on pork; how the spice enhances the meat’s sweetness, while the acidity cuts through the fat. Mustard may be the addition of the German immigrants who settled in South Carolina in the 18th century and whose descendants opened barbecue restaurants still revered in the state, such as Bessingers in Charleston, Sweatman’s in Holly Hill and Hite’s in West Columbia. A good mustard sauce is a study in balance: the bite of mustard and mouth-pucker of vinegar offset by the sweetness of honey or brown sugar. Tradition calls for using ballpark-style mustard, but try the suaveness of Dijon-style mustard or a grainy mustard from Meaux in France.
