The Miami Heat revealed a statue of franchise legend and basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade on Sunday, with the design of the statue immediately going viral and drawing some unwanted comparisons. The statue’s design – which depicts Johnson in various stages of pitching motion – is certainly unique. Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is expected to play in the next World Series game against the New York Yankees on Monday night after injuring his shoulder in a slide Saturday. As President Joe Biden fought to remain in the presidential race this summer, advisers often argued there existed a “Biden coalition” — a cohort only the incumbent could hold together. A coalition of labor groups targeting union members in battleground states is pointing to Biden’s term in office. Coons noted the vice president has campaigned in Pennsylvania’s biggest cities, but also in places like Wilkes-Barre, Johnstown and Erie to reach the kinds of voters Biden has long considered his base. A Florida woman accused of zipping her boyfriend in a suitcase and leaving him in there to suffocate was found guilty of murder on Friday, four years after what she had initially described to authorities as a case of drunken hide-and-seek gone wrong. She said that she had gone upstairs and passed out, and when she woke up, she realized Torres was still inside the suitcase. She said she "moved it around a little bit" while Torres was still inside the suitcase. In the video clips, Boone allegedly mocked Torres as he begged for help, NBC affiliate WESH of Daytona Beach reported. Boone said Torres began pushing on the suitcase and she feared he would get out.
