In a major shake-up, China will set up the new regulatory body, the National Financial Regulatory Administration (NFRA), according to a proposal that the State Council, or cabinet, presented to parliament on Tuesday. The watchdog, which will oversee all aspects of China's $57 trillion financial sector apart from the securities market, should help reduce regulatory overlap especially at the level of local government, analysts say. There are also plans, sources have said, for the revival of another high-level financial watchdog which is expected to be directly under central party leadership. 'ENHANCING CENTRALISATION'In its reform proposals presented in parliament, the State Council said the changes were meant to "deepen reforming local financial regulatory systems" by "enhancing centralised management of financial affairs". Some investors, however, are concerned that the regulatory power reshuffle means tighter government control, which may bring more interference or crackdowns on financial activity, particularly in the private sector.
He also suggests having some exposure to small-cap stocks .. Non-US equities, especially in emerging markets, could outperform in a multi-year cycle. As for the fixed-income market, Bharath says it will continue to yield positive returns, even though they may not be massive. Second, an investor's portfolio should return to an equal balance between value and growth stocks this year. However, the same thesis for growth stocks can be applied to small-cap stocks. This is why investors that dollar cost average every month, such as through a 401(k), are able to get close to market returns, he added.
[1/3] A man wearing a protective mask is seen inside the Shanghai Stock Exchange building, as the country is hit by a new coronavirus outbreak, at the Pudong financial district in Shanghai, China, February 28, 2020. REUTERS/Aly Song/File PhotoNEW YORK/SINGAPORE, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Many large money managers are steering clear of Chinese assets, missing out on the nation's post-COVID stock market rally in the latest example of strategic concerns trumping juicy returns. "For our investors who might have that concern, there are plenty of other opportunities away from China." The concern flagged by some is whether this is part of a structural downgrade for Chinese assets, said Will Malcolm, a Singapore-based portfolio manager at Aviva Investors. That could attract cash in a hurry, but the behaviour of large investors so far suggests that a large sentiment shift will be needed.

But first, we've got hedge fund returns. It's returns season for hedge funds, and boy is this year a doozy. Insider's Alex Morrell has a breakdown of how some of the flagship strategies at top hedge funds like AQR, Citadel, D.E. Alex's story gets into the nitty gritty — and more importantly, the specific numbers — but the big takeaway is this: While 2022 was a pretty awful year for the hedge fund industry, some of the industry's top funds absolutely crushed it. And while it might seem impossible to figure out a way to make money in that type of environment, that's exactly when I'd expect a hedge fund to step up.

For the third straight year, Atherton, California, is the most expensive ZIP code in the U.S. to own a home. Near Stanford University, and home of tech executives and venture capitalists, Atherton has resisted development of multifamily properties, which has kept homes large and exclusive. In second place is Sagaponack, New York, an enclave of a few hundred residents in the Hamptons, followed by the posh Bel Air neighborhood in Los Angeles. Third place is perhaps the most famous ZIP code in the U.S.: 90210 — namesake of the '90s teen melodrama "Beverly Hills, 90210." Below are the 10 most expensive ZIP codes in the country, ranked by median home sale prices:

Kathy Hilton — dressed in a black Valentino gown, gold belt, and studded stilettos for a photo shoot — was begging for some attention. Ms. Hilton sighed and shrugged. Set amid a season of heavy legal dramas and lighter histrionic fare, Ms. Hilton’s oddball asides and eccentric behavior has sent the internet into paroxysms of adulation. “And the words they used … they said, ‘You’re quirky and refreshing.’” Her sunny face went dumbstruck. I’ve been asking my friends lately, ‘Do you think I’m quirky?’”
