Mortgage rates continued to climb last week as investors considered the future of the economy under a Trump presidency. The implementation efforts reflect one slice of how the Biden administration is working to shore up key initiatives as the second Trump presidency approaches. Speaking to reporters on Monday, the first official day at COP29, Podesta said the Biden administration is “fully committed” to obligating outstanding funding under Biden’s climate law, the Inflation Reduction Act. About $103 billion in Inflation Reduction Act funding, which makes up 92% of the law’s total, has been announced as of late October. While Trump has criticized the CHIPS legislation as “so bad,” it has enjoyed bipartisan support because the plans could create jobs and infuse money into local communities.
