As a result, investing in equal-weighted ETFs that provide a more diversified approach and offer exposure to old economy-linked sectors such as energy and manufacturing are coming back in favor as investors look to broaden their exposure beyond Big Tech. Laura Cooper of BlackRock said the company's "highest conviction call" in the United States is the S&P 500 equal-weight. The $42-billion Invesco S&P 500 equal-weighted ETF , which mirrors the performance of the S&P 500 equal-weight index (.SPXEW), saw inflows of $8.80 billion from the beginning of June through Aug. 25, according to Refinitiv Lipper data. In comparison, the much larger $402-billion SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust , which tracks moves in the market cap weighted S&P 500 (.SPX), bled $10.88 billion during the same period. Invesco S&P 500 equal-weighted ETF drew $4.85 billion inflows in June, the most since the fund was launched in 2003, followed by $3.53 billion in July, the second highest on record.

SHANGHAI/HONG KONG, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Faced with a liquidity crisis, Zhongzhi Enterprise Group will conduct a debt restructuring, the Chinese asset manager has told investors, as a deepening property sector downturn raises fears about spillover risks to the broader financial sector. Beijing-based Zhongzhi, which has sizable exposure to real estate, has stopped payment to investors in all investment products, its management told investors in a meeting on Wednesday, a video seen by Reuters showed. Zhongzhi's financial trouble is the latest challenge for Chinese authorities as they battle to contain a worsening property sector crisis and revive a faltering recovery in the world's second-largest economy. Zhongzhi has hired one of the Big Four accounting firms to conduct a comprehensive audit of the company, and is seeking strategic investors, its management told investors in Wednesday's meeting. Anxious retail investors are bombarding listed companies with questions about their exposure to Zhongrong after missed payments by the trust company triggered fears of contagion across the country's financial system.

Anxious retail investors are bombarding listed companies with questions about their exposure to Zhongrong, a subsidiary of Zhongzhi, after missed payments by the trust company triggered fears of wider contagion. Zhongzhi's financial trouble is the latest challenge for Chinese authorities as they battle to contain a worsening property sector crisis and revive a faltering recovery in the world's second-largest economy. The Wednesday's meeting was held after Zhongrong International Trust Co, a leading trust company controlled by Zhongzhi, missed payments on dozens of investment products since the end of July, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing sources. PROPERTY CRISISThe liquidity stress facing Zhongzhi highlights the ripple effect of an unprecedented debt crisis in China's property sector, which accounts for roughly a quarter of the economy that has rapidly lost momentum in recent months. Evergrande said late on Wednesday it would delay the voting date and scheme meetings with creditors for its offshore debt restructuring plan to Aug 23 and Aug 28, respectively, to give creditors more time to consider the terms.

Why it pays to wait to claim Social Security benefitsEarly claiming will affect the size of your monthly Social Security checks. Altogether, Goldman has $2.71 trillion in assets under supervision as of June 30, which includes wealth management assets. What about wealth management? Several small towns in the UK have experimented with giving small businesses rent-free shop space over the last few years. July 2 (Reuters) - Barclays (BARC.L) is looking to terminate its corporate banking relationship with Odey Asset Management (OAM), the Financial Times reported on Sunday, predominantly due to sexual assault allegations against founder Crispin Odey. The British hedge fund has grappled with redemptions since the FT and Tortoise Media on June 8 jointly reported allegations by 13 women that Crispin Odey had sexually assaulted or harassed them over a 25-year period. OAM and Barclays did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment outside usual office hours. FT also reported earlier that the FCA had restricted the movement of cash and assets from OAM to restore order at the firm. Letters to OAM investors last week showed the manager has proposed to restructure two of its key funds as part of efforts to extract Crispin Odey from the business after the assault allegations.

The Japanese flag flutters over the Bank of Japan (BoJ) head office building (bottom) in Tokyo on April 27, 2022. At first glance, Asian stocks as a whole have more modest gains so far this year compared with their U.S. and European counterparts. But Asia is more economically diverse than Europe and the U.S., and there are still bright spots in the region, especially in Japan and South Korea. In April, the BOJ announced it will conduct a "a broad-perspective review of [its] monetary policy," which could span 12-18 months. But Lombard Odier still expects the BOJ to end the yield curve control policy before this review is over.

Greenpeace activists scaled Deutsche Bank’s headquarters in Frankfurt Wednesday and strung up a large yellow banner to protest against the climate investment policies of the German lender and its asset management company DWS. The action came a day ahead of the annual shareholder meeting of DWS, which is mostly owned by Deutsche Bank and has drawn attention from activists and regulators over allegations it misled investors about “green” investments. Deutsche Bank (DB) said sustainability and climate protection were “strategic priorities,” and that it supports DWS in the development of its sustainability policies and standards. Odey Asset Management "does not recognise the picture of the firm that has been painted" by the allegations, it told investors in a letter seen by Reuters. Within hours of the report being published, Wall Street firms including Goldman Sachs (GS.N), JPMorgan (JPM.N) and Morgan Stanley (MS.N) began reviewing their prime broking ties with Odey Asset Management, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. "We are confident our service providers will continue to work with us," an Odey Asset Management letter said later. Industry experts consulted by Reuters said that did not necessarily indicate a major change in culture in the City, however.
