A former body guard for Sean Combs has filed a defamation lawsuit against a woman who in September accused him of physically and sexually assaulting her in 2001. Joseph Sherman called the allegations in Thalia Graves’ lawsuit “utterly and entirely false,” in documents filed Thursday in federal court in Manhattan. She said Sherman had lifted her up from a couch, slammed her down on a table and Combs then raped her, according to her court filing. But new research suggests that one English woman convicted of witchcraft and condemned to be hanged may have escaped the noose. Alice Molland – who has long held the tragic record of being the last woman in England to be hanged as a “witch” – was sentenced to death in 1685. In June 1685, Avis Molland – by now widowed – emerges in court records as an informant about a potential revolt, at a time when the Duke of Monmouth was attempting a rebellion against the king. Avis Molland died a free woman eight years later. Worland has spent 18 years unearthing victims’ details, and has successfully campaigned to have memorials to executed “witches” in Colchester and Chelmsford.

Customers who allegedly withdrew money fraudulently from Chase Bank ATMs using an illegal scheme that blew up on TikTok over the summer could soon have to cut hefty checks back to the bank. These people were able to withdraw funds by writing checks to themselves and immediately withdrawing funds before the checks bounced. Normally, the bank follows the industry standard of making a portion of any check available to customers before the funds clear. However, a temporary glitch allowed customers to withdraw more substantial amounts than typically allowed before a check clears. One case in Houston involves a “masked man” who allegedly deposited a $335,000 check to a defendant’s account.

Vince McMahon and the WWE have been accused of knowing about and failing to stop the sexual exploitation of young boys by a ringside announcer, in a lawsuit filed on behalf of five alleged victims Wednesday. NBC News has contacted the McMahons, TKO and the WWE for comment; none have so far responded or commented on the case publicly. The suit alleges that Phillips would abuse the claimants in his dressing room while filming it with a video camera. The suit accuses the McMahons of long knowing of Phillips’ “peculiar and unnatural interest” in young boys. "Thanks to the bravery of our clients, we finally have a chance to hold accountable those who allowed and enabled the open, rampant sexual abuse of these young boys," he said.

But the Suns surged back and Durant tied the game with a fadeaway jumper over two Clippers players with just 21 seconds remaining to force OT. Durant finished with a team-high 25 points to go with seven rebounds, three steals and a block, while Bradley Beal added 24 points.
