"It was a very bad quarter," Cramer said, pointing to Air Product's weak forward guidance compared to rival Linde's (LIN) overall upbeat results last month. On Oct. 26, Linde posted 17% adjusted earnings-per-share growth and a lift to its profit guidance. We'll have to see at the close whether Linde shares can turn things around and go for eight. However, he added, "Air Products is proving that not to be the case." Cramer's Charitable Trust does not hold shares of Air Products but does have a stake in Linde.

Some of the ads show Black women applying hair products before cutting to a summary of the NIH study’s findings. “We do not believe the science supports a link between chemical hair straighteners or relaxers and cancer,” Revlon said. Lead author White said in a statement in response to Reuters questions that there is currently no strong evidence linking family history of breast cancer to increased risk of uterine cancer. The sisters said they wanted their mother’s death last year following a battle with uterine cancer to mean something. Bush, the St. Louis cosmetologist, joined the litigation in August, she said, because of the possibility that hair relaxers cause cancer.

Washington Convention Center in Washington, U.S., September 23, 2023. REUTERS/Elizabeth Frantz/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsWASHINGTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - The Biden administration on Wednesday urged big companies to deposit another $2 billion into U.S. community lenders to boost loans to minority and underserved businesses, and asked them to devote 15% of their procurement budgets to such firms. Alphabet Inc's Google (GOOGL.O) will commit to spending at least $1 billion annually with "diverse-owned suppliers" in the United States, the Treasury said. The Treasury had previously invested nearly $9 billion into Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and minority-owned banking firms to make more capital available to minority firms. "In order for these minority owned banks and CDFIs to lend that money, they need deposits," Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo told reporters.

The proposed tax credit, 45V, is meant to turbocharge the production of low-emissions hydrogen. "The IRA's section 45V production tax credit is the most generous clean hydrogen subsidy in the world," Jesse Jenkins, professor of macro-scale energy systems at Princeton University, told CNBC. John Macdougall | Afp | Getty ImagesThe adjudication of the hydrogen tax credit has become about more than just the hydrogen tax credit, too. The amount of the hydrogen tax credit, which is available for 10 years, depends on the emissions generated in making hydrogen. If hydrogen is produced without releasing any carbon emissions, the tax credit is maxed out at $3 per kilogram of hydrogen.

“I wanted to burn my house down.”Any parent dealing with head lice can probably relate to this situation. Head lice have unfortunately become a part of raising children today, said Deborah Altschuler, president of the National Pediculosis Association. Lauren Salzberg (R), also known as Lice-Lady, treats a customer for head lice in her studio, a converted garage, in Potomac, Maryland, in November 2015. Head lice are most common among young children — 6 million to 12 million lice outbreaks occur yearly in children between 3 and 11 in the US — though adults are vulnerable to head lice as well. The best way to check if a child has lice is with a lice comb, Altschuler said.

Opinion | Do We Have a Right to Beauty?

And as I’d always expected, it was more than that; beauty itself was an investment that could lead to more success. This is what I was thinking about when a nurse in the emergency room said that in some cases, they brought in a plastic surgeon. “Brazil has the best plastic surgeons in the world.” He reassured me the scarring would be minimal. Brazil, I learned, prides itself on its huge number of skilled plastic surgeons. There’s no denial that small changes we can make to our surfaces have profound influence on our quality of life and that beauty is often a means of gaining power.

At its former headquarters in eastern Pennsylvania, Air Products had a neatly manicured lawn and boxwood hedges. But when the industrial gases company moved to nearby Allentown recently and erected a new office building, it tried something different. Rather than plant grass that would need constant watering, mowing and fertilizing, it turned to native plants that pretty much took care of themselves. “One plant had yellow finches all around it,” said Patrick J. Garay, vice president of strategic projects at Air Products. Apps calculate the carbon footprint of landscapes in much the same way that buildings are monitored for greenhouse gas emissions.

Morning Bid: Showdown on the ceiling
  + stars: | 2023-05-09 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +5 min
With world markets still at an impasse on the extent of the economic slowdown and chance of recession, the U.S. debt ceiling impasse remains unresolved - and Tuesday's showdown at the White House is one of the few opportunities left to resolve it. Biden meets Republican House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy for the first time since February. There are only six days this month when the House and the Senate are in session when Biden is in Washington. Longer-term Treasury yields remain under wraps, however, with 2-year yields hovering just under 4%. DEBT CEILINGBeyond the debt ceiling row, the picture of the wider economy remains equivocal.
