That also means that AI data centers are growing fast — as is the demand for them. That in turn is set to drive up the demand for cooling systems for data centers. We believe the demand for liquid cooling for AI data centers should sustain for the following 5-10 years, driven by continuous iteration of AI chips and rising heat dissipation requirements," Jefferies said in a Sept. 10 report. Cooling services have been said to improve power efficiency in data centers and, by extension, cost efficiency. Envicool Technology : Jefferies expects data center cooling sales in Southeast Asia to contribute one-third of such sales for the Chinese firm.

Investors and Wall Street analysts may want to take a closer look at stocks that could be winners under a President Kamala Harris after Tuesday night's debate . National polls showed a tight race heading into the debate, but some now believe Harris could get a bump from her performance. "We expect a near-term bounce towards Vice President Harris following the first debate with former President Trump, but the longer-term impact remains unclear," Raymond James Washington analyst Ed Mills said in a note to clients late Tuesday night. Wolfe Research has a similar list of stocks in an anti-Trump trade basket, including health care stocks like Centene and HCA . Of course, it could be difficult for new Democratic policies to become law even with a Harris win in November, depending on how Congressional races shake out.

More than halfway through the third quarter, many of the biggest commodity ETFs in the United States are in sizable holes. Kathy Kriskey, senior commodities ETF strategist at Invesco, said that oil supply is actually tight at the moment. The commodities slump could be partially due to mechanical factors in the market, such as low trading volumes combined with large commodity trading advisors betting against the sector, Kriskey said. "The price of corn has taken almost three full years from those 2022 spike highs to get back down. And oil, one of the biggest weights in commodity indexes, could see stepped up supply in coming months.

Shares of Snowflake closed down more than 14% on Thursday after the data cloud analytics company released fiscal second-quarter 2025 earnings that beat Wall Street's estimates but showed decelerating product revenue growth compared to past quarters. The company reported $829.3 million in product revenue, which accounts for most of Snowflake's sales, up 30% year over year. They said the company's smaller product revenue beat and deceleration in growth will not inspire weary investors. "A 2% product revenue beat in Q2, down from 5% in Q1, with product revenue growth dipping further to 29.5% YoY," likely sows "enough doubt in the investor conversation to keep shares under pressure in the near-term," the analysts wrote in a note Thursday. The Wall Street bank surveyed its fundamental equity team of 130 analysts, covering approximately 3,400 companies, to identify the companies that stand to gain from AI across various sectors. The bank believes the development of AI is the third major tech cycle over the past five decades. The earlier cycles are the growth of the internet and mobile phone devices. Rising U.S.-China tensions have sent Chinese companies the signal that regardless of who wins the White House, overseas investment is the way to go. Chinese companies' interest in expanding overseas has accelerated since the pandemic as growth slowed domestically. "Top sectors that received Chinese investment have shifted from tertiary to manufacturing industries," the report said. "Interestingly, while Chinese companies have become more active in expanding business in ASEAN countries, they tend to maintain their presence in the West, suggesting the 'ASEAN+1' strategy may have increased." Even in the U.S, where new investment from China has fallen sharply, the report said that "Chinese companies have not materially withdrawn from the US market either."

China has, in its own way, signaled it wants to support specific kinds of consumer purchases. Authorities on Thursday announced the equivalent of 300 billion yuan ($41.5 billion) in special bonds would go towards trade-ins and equipment upgrades — a significant expansion of an existing program. The 300 billion yuan ultra-long bond issuance is not a new government allocation, but rather a more detailed designation of a 1 trillion yuan ultra-long bond program announced earlier this year. "300 billion yuan is the largest equipment upgrade subsidy from the central government historically," the analysts said. Even the 300 billion yuan figure is split roughly between consumer-related trade-ins with business-side equipment upgrades.
