“I believe all fuels will be made in this way, and we won’t be using fossil fuels anymore at all. Zero continued its foray into motorsport in April, linking up with 2B Autosport to become the first synthetic fuel partner in rally car racing. Zero PetroleumZero could perhaps seek to emulate P1 Fuels, a synthetic fuel firm that is already an established player in the industry. Porsche announced this year that the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup – a one-make stock car series – would run exclusively on synthetic fuels produced at the Haru Oni plant. In addition, some experts suggest that electric power, a significantly cheaper alternative to synthetic fuels, would be a much more efficient way of decarbonizing the sport than synthetic fuel.

Some of it had to do with the old joke being that Best Buy was nothing but an Amazon showroom. CEO Corie Barry is a no-nonsense heavyweight who mastered the supply chain for Best Buy during the pandemic. As the JPMorgan recent upgrade on Best Buy said, most investors don't realize how awful this period has been for Best Buy. It doesn't hurt, of course that Best Buy has a substantial dividend — 3.68%, down from 4% and 5% when we were buying it. We have watched Eaton and Dover go higher and that was without the rate cycle, just with the data center.

The ridehailing company will now deliver costumes, makeup, and even decorations from Spirit Halloween, the largest Halloween retailer in North America, Uber announced in a press release Friday. Big-box retailers are getting into Halloween earlier and earlier, suggesting American consumers continue spending on the October holiday even as they pull back from other discretionary purchases. Customers in the US and Canada can buy their Chipotle burrito costume for the same price as in store, but without having to visit the seasonal Halloween store that pops up in abandoned storefronts every year, Uber said. Of course, there will still be the fees associated with Uber Eats delivery. Uber Eats has also partnered with Big Lots, Lowe’s, Michael’s and Party City for on-demand delivery.

China related stocks were on the move Tuesday after the People's Bank of China said it will cut interest rates. What the Jefferies downgrade misses is the market is giving Starbucks a pass as Niccol builds his team and makes changes. Truist downgraded Club holding Costco to a hold rating ahead of earnings, which are out after Thursday's close. The analysts still have a hold-equivalent rating on Club holding Home Depot but boosted their price target to $400 per share. Fed rates not only set short-term borrowing costs for banks, but they also help determine mortgage, auto loan and credit card rates. According to the firm, shares of a few major discount retailers should outperform if middle-income consumers see higher levels of disposable income. Shares of Home Depot and Lowe's are up roughly 12.9% and 17.2% this year, respectively, as the prospect of lower interest rates boosts consumer sentiment. Tech products seller Best Buy could also get a boost from improved middle-income consumer sentiment, Telsey forecasts. If the rate-cutting cycle boosts sentiment among higher-end consumers, Telsey expects consumer retail names such as Williams-Sonoma and German sandal company Birkenstock to outperform.

"The housing market is in part frozen because of lock-in with low rates. "As rates come down, people will start to move more, and that's probably beginning to happen already." "Ultimately shirking fiduciary responsibility to employees, consumers, and shareholders." Twenty civil rights organizations sent a letter Thursday to Fortune 1000 companies calling for them to recommit to diversity, equity and inclusion, after several major companies scaled back their efforts. She emphasized that LGBTQ+ consumers have $1.4 trillion of buying power, as reported by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce. But a small, well-funded, and extreme group of right-wing activists is attempting to pressure companies into abandoning their DEI programs. Abandoning DEI will have long-term consequences on business success -- ultimately shirking fiduciary responsibility to employees, consumers, and shareholders.

Here's a rapid-fire update on all 32 stocks in Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust, the portfolio we use for the CNBC Investing Club. AMD shares have caught a bid in recent days, but they're still cheap considering the growth of its AI processors. Broadcom : Investors who don't own any Broadcom yet should consider starting a position here, Jim said. Although it's tempting to offload shares, Jim said to stick with Honeywell for now because there's huge value in individual businesses like aerospace. There's little negative to say about this portfolio stock.

We started buying Home Depot shares last week as a play on housing and interest rates. Our Home Depot investment thesis is all about a pickup in housing turnover, the main driver of the home improvement retailer's sales. When rates went below 6.5% toward the end of last year, he explained, there was an immediate increase in housing activity, mortgage applications, and mortgage refinance applications. Mortgage rates with a 5% handle could be on the horizon, at least that's what Toll Brothers CEO Doug Yearley thinks. With these numbers, it's easy to see why Decker is optimistic that activity will normalize, and housing turnover and remodel activity will pick-up again.

Lowe's staff members were targeted via a Google ad for an employee portal claiming to be associated with the retailer. It's not a problem with Google, per se; malicious ads can also show up in queries using other search engines like Microsoft's Bing. "You see something appearing on a Google search, you kind of assume it is something valid," said Stuart Madnick, professor of information technology at MIT Sloan School of Management. Also avoid calling a telephone number listed in a sponsored ad because it could be a fake telephone number. Many privacy browsers have embedded ad blockers; consumers may still see sponsored ads, but they will see fewer of them, which minimizes the chances of malvertising.
