It used to be that you saw a stretch limousine and excitedly wondered who was inside — maybe a corporate executive or a celebrity or some other classy, mysterious type. The limo industry isn't dead; it's just leaving the classic black stretch version of itself behind. Trade shows and expos for limousines and luxury transportation no longer have many, if any, actual classic stretch limos on their floors. He said they keep a stretch limo around for nostalgia's sake more than anything. A CEO gallivanting around in his or her fancy stretch limousine is gross.

On Wednesday, Boeing announced it will be temporarily furloughing a "large number" of white-collar employees. The news comes after around 30,000 Boeing workers began a strike on Friday after rejecting a new pay contract. "We are initiating temporary furloughs over the coming days that will impact a large number of US-based executives, managers, and employees," Kelly Ortberg, the CEO of Boeing, wrote in an email to employees. In a union vote on September 12, workers voted against an agreement that Boeing and the labor union for machinists and aerospace workers had proposed. It found that almost 60% of rank-and-file union members preferred to endorse Trump, while 34% backed Harris, according to an electronic member poll. The law forced union workers to accept a union contract that had been brokered by the Biden administration. The union endorsed Biden in 2020.
