There's no such thing as a perfect parent, says Tovah Klein. It's throwing at us probably daily [reminders that] we are far from perfect," says Klein, a child psychologist, author and director of the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development. Fortunately, making mistakes and owning up to them is one way that parents can actually help teach their kids how to become healthy, successful adults. Like most parents, Klein raised her voice in heated moments on more than one occasion: "I could really yell at my kids," she says. "I wish I had never been that parent who went over the top and really got into battles with my children.

At Starbucks, Niccol inherits a company that under previous leadership consistently disappointed investors with weakening sales, including back-to-back periods of negative same-store sales growth this year. Operations Upon taking over Chipotle, Niccol's focus was on improving operations after the rise of digital orders complicated execution and increased wait times. The addition of shelves alone accelerated the use of Chipotle's second "make line," where digital orders are prepared in the back of the store. To rebuild consumer trust at Chipotle, Chipotle launched the "Behind the Foil" campaign to showcase transparency in food preparation. His marketing approach "brought new news in a positive way toward Chipotle," Silberman said.

Luxury stocks may be a risky China stimulus bet

A post-pandemic spending surge led to luxury stocks such as LVMH to reach all-time highs in early 2023, but that soon changed. We believe improved confidence and sentiment is required to reach even our flat year-over-year Chinese luxury growth forecast for 2025," Wallace noted. Luxury stocks are feeling the pressure — year to date, U.S.-traded shares of major players LVMH and Kering are down about 17% and 41%, respectively. Analysts and investors are mixed as to whether the Chinese stimulus measures can revive luxury spending growth among consumers — and whether it will create a meaningful tailwind for luxury companies. Whether the luxury sector can continue growing at the same levels without as much Chinese consumer spending remains in question.

CNN —America’s largest drug store chain named a new chief executive officer on Friday, with longtime CVS Health executive David Joyner replacing Karen Lynch. In August, rising costs at CVS’ insurance arm Aetna cut into profits, leading to the ousting of then-president Brian Kane. Charles Krupa/AP/FileLower reimbursement rates for prescription drugs have hit retail pharmacies, including Walgreens and Rite-Aid, resulting in flagging profits and forcing drug stores to shutter locations and cut jobs. Meanwhile, rival chain Walgreens is closing 1,200 stores as it faces competition from online pharmacies and larger retailers — another challenge facing drug stores. Our results need to show that more consistently,” a CVS Health spokesperson told CNN in a statement.

Nvidia could be positioned for even more growth ahead, according to Bank of America. Analyst Vivek Arya reiterated his buy rating on the chip giant and raised his price target by $25 to $190. Not only that, Arya cited "underappreciated" enterprise partnerships with companies such as Accenture and ServiceNow as catalysts for more growth. The stock advanced around 1% in the premarket on Friday following Arya's price target change.

Grant said stocks could soon enter a period of weak returns, possibly for "many years." AdvertisementThe bull market in stocks looks like it's close to the top, according to an investment chief. AdvertisementSentiment and position indicators are also flashing signs investors are overexcited about the stock market, Grant said. The 3-month moving average of year-ahead stock market expectations has climbed to its highest on record, according to Conference Board data. That suggests there's little "cushion" in the event the stock market declines or experiences a shock, Grant said.
