CNN —Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced at a news conference in Phoenix Friday that he is suspending his campaign and endorsing Trump. Kennedy insisted that he was not ending his campaign, but he noted that he will withdraw his name from appearing on ballots in swing states. If you live in a blue state, you can vote for me without harming — or helping — President Trump or Vice President Harris. Kennedy running mate Nicole Shanahan praised him following his announcement and urged him to “save our children” in a social media post. But Kennedy’s support for Trump was clear Friday afternoon.

In purely military terms, Ukraine’s surprise incursion of Russia earlier this month is a dubious gamble. The more significant potential of the invasion lies on the other front — that of information, propaganda, morale, image and competing narratives. By moving into Kursk, Ukraine’s military has loudly advertised its boldness just when it looked like its troops might never regain the initiative. Mr. Zelensky calls this the “naïve illusion of so-called red lines,” and so far, his allies have not complained about the Kursk invasion. They may see little value in scolding Ukraine, the plucky David in this war, right after he has landed an audacious strike against a plodding Goliath.

Though Republicans have branded themselves as the party of capital-P patriotism since the Nixon years, Democrats sought to reclaim American pride this week. A striking number of this year's speakers focused on military might and distinctly American values, from Harris herself to Iraq war veterans. This story is available exclusively to Business Insider subscribers. For the past decade, Loge said that Democrats have been "shy" or "embarrassed" about embracing classic American patriotism, but that Harris and Walz are attempting to reframe the association with the flag. "Democrats serve too," Kauffman told Business Insider.

Researchers first spotted the insect, dubbed the “ManhattAnt,” while doing a survey on ants in New York City in 2011. By comparing the New York ants with the European ones, Seifert was able to confirm the ant’s identity. Because the nests work together instead of against one another, they can spread faster and easily dominate an area by outcompeting native species, he added. “One of the things we know about a lot of invasive ant species is they displace the native species, and the native species that they’re displacing usually have very specialized roles in the ecosystem, so you’re sort of disrupting that ecosystem when these species get introduced,” Moreau said. Time will tell whether the ant has become more than just a nuisance and is disrupting the ecosystem, Penick said.

Sure enough, the video culminates with Carpenter and Ortega sharing a kiss, just before Ortega uses a chainsaw to murder the "beloved boyfriend" in question. The two hosts described Carpenter as a "big time hetero," adding, "I do not think Sabrina Carpenter has a gay bone in her body." A few weeks ago, I started asking left-leaning people their thoughts on slurs being peppered into everyday conversations. An inclusive eraKayla Cash, a 31-year-old PR manager, grew up using words she now considers offensive. Some of the language felt ubiquitous; she remembers the 2004 release of "Let's Get It Started," the Grammy-winning Black Eyed Peas hit that was originally released as "Let's Get Retarded." It was billed as discussions between two "bohemian layabouts" who called out performative aspects of progressive politics — while using language more often associated with the right, such as that offensive term for someone with intellectual disabilities. Looser language and new rulesEveryone I talked to for this story had rules for which words they would and wouldn't say.

But his track record of handling recent crises in Russia reveals a different side of his presidential persona: one of paralysis and indecision. Despite a claim of responsibility from ISIS-K, he continued to insist that Ukraine, and the West had played a role. Dmytro Kholod, commander of Ukraine’s “Nightingale” battalion, currently in Kursk, told CNN by phone on Wednesday that he has noticed a shift in the behavior of Russian troops. Ballot measures on abortion rights have succeeded beyond what even their proponents imagined when the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago. They have not only enshrined a constitutional right to abortion and restored access to the procedure in red and purple states. They have also converted what had been a voter mobilization advantage for Republicans into one for Democrats. Now the strategy — and an unbroken winning streak — faces its biggest test ever, with 10 states asking voters whether to establish a right to abortion in their constitutions. On Friday, Nebraska became the final state to certify — it will be the only state with two measures, one sponsored by abortion rights supporters and the other by opponents.

New York CNN —BurgerFi, the fast-casual burger chain and owner of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, is running out of cash – and options. Because of the lack of cash, BurgerFi is uncertain if it can continue to operate its 60 pizza stores and 102 burger restaurants. Food prices have also hurt BurgerFi – the company cited a price increase in chicken wings and higher wages for its increase in operating expenses. BurgerFi first rang the alarm in May, when it announced it was going over “strategic alternatives” due to its liquidity challenges. BurgerFi (BFI) went public in 2020, and its stock has dropped almost 60% year to date.
