Reuters —American Airlines’ 28,000 flight attendants have reached a tentative labor agreement with the company, their union said on Friday. The Association of Professional Flight Attendants, which represents the flight attendants, said the deal addresses their concerns about compensation, work rules and retroactive pay. Reached after more than three years of negotiations, the tentative agreement will be sent to the union’s board for review. Last month, the airline offered flight attendants a new contract with an immediate 17% wage increase and higher profit sharing in 2024, which the union rejected. American’s flight attendants had authorized their union to call a strike if there wasn’t a deal.

But, according to the cybersecurity company's terms and conditions, CrowdStrike doesn't have to shell out anything more than a simple refund. The terms for CrowdStrike's Falcon security software — which is used by companies and government agencies around the world — limit liability to "fees paid." AdvertisementThat means CrowdStrike users who signed the standard terms and conditions can't expect to get more than a refund from the company, Waller said. Related storiesBigger companies using CrowdStrike's software — like some of the airlines or hospital chains affected — may have negotiated different terms and conditions contracts with the cybersecurity company. Airlines were forced to ground flights, 911 lines went down, banks reported glitches and hospitals had to cancel surgeries. Many companies recovered during the day, but other issues persisted with no clear end in sight. The chaos all stemmed from a software update sent by CrowdStrike, which is based in Austin, Texas.
