Rumble , a video platform aimed at conservatives, said Monday evening that it will begin allocating a portion of its excess cash reserves to bitcoin and making purchases of up to $20 million in the cryptocurrency. "We believe that the world is still in the early stages of the adoption of bitcoin," Rumble chairman and CEO Chris Pavlovski said in a statement Monday. The move puts Rumble in the same company as MicroStrategy, which began employing an aggressive bitcoin-buying strategy in 2020. Rumble is viewed as a play linked to Donald Trump's return to the White House given its popularity among conservatives. MicroStrategy chairman and bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor said last week on an X Spaces event that he plans to pitch the board of Microsoft in December on his bitcoin treasury strategy.

Every so often, Kendrick Lamar steps into the present. That’s part of what made his feud with Drake, which began in March and stretched through the spring and summer, so bracing. It was Lamar using Drake’s typical weapons against him — an acknowledgment that even if Lamar prefers not to pay attention to prevailing winds, he can ride them if need be. From a distance, “GNX,” his sixth album, which was released with no announcement on Friday, has some of that same immediacy. On the two opening tracks, “Wacced Out Murals” and “Squabble Up,” Lamar is rapping with the seething indignation he weaponized so effectively during the beef: “I’ll kill ’em all before I let ’em kill my joy”; “Before I take a truce, I’ll take him to hell with me.”

It's a "capital junkie" that's been on a yearslong binge of unprecedented spending on all-electric and autonomous vehicles. The April 2015 report highlighted the industry's massive capital spending on overlapping or niche products that Marchionne was convinced could be solved through consolidation and shared capital spending. CNN —Where the high hills of the occupied West Bank tumble into the Jordan valley, half a dozen heavy Israeli diggers pound the ancient rocks around the Palestinian village of Bardala. Such evictions are common in the West Bank, according to the United Nations. During a visit to Israel in 2017, the former governor of Arkansas told reporters: “There is no such thing as a West Bank. The eviction notice Israeli officials handed to a Palestinian farmer near the village of Bardala in the occupied West Bank, ordering him to leave his land. The hard reality in Bardala, as elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, is that even before Trump’s approaching inauguration, the Palestinian state had become a distant dream.

U.S. Treasury yields were lower on Monday as investors weighed President-elect Donald Trump's Treasury secretary pick and eyed a key inflation reading due later in the week. Trump's choice of hedge fund executive Scott Bessent as Treasury secretary has calmed investors' nerves about the future of the U.S. economy. Bessent, the founder of Key Square Group, is expected to back the incoming president's economic goals including gradual tariffs and pro-business policies. However, as an old Wall Street hand and a fiscal conservative, investors believe Bessent will prioritize stability in the U.S. economy and markets. Also in focus this week are some key data points due ahead of a shortened trading week.

Both cases against Mr. Trump — for his attempt to overturn the 2020 election and his later hoarding of classified government documents and obstruction of efforts to retrieve them — were short-circuited by the fact that he won the 2024 election before they could be definitively resolved. Jack Smith, the special counsel who brought both cases against Mr. Trump, asked courts on Monday to shut them down. The result is not just that Mr. Trump appears set to escape any criminal accountability for his actions. (Mr. Smith left the door open to, in theory, refiling the charges after Mr. Trump leaves office, but the statute of limitations is likely to have run by then.) It also means that two open constitutional questions the cases have raised appear likely to go without definitive answers as Mr. Trump takes office.
