When my son was 4 years old in March 2020, we started lying with him to help him get to sleep. We'd curl up together in his crimson-red fire truck bed and talk about anything and everything. "Mommy, when you're an old granny, I'll tell my kids you were a wonderful mommy," he whispered to me one night. Melissa Noble and her husband cuddle with their kids before bed each night. We tried a few techniques half-heartedly, like having a consistent bedtime routine and weaning our support, but it never really worked.

Venus atmosphere shows potential signs of life — again

“We’re a long way from saying this, but if there is life on Venus producing phosphine, we have no idea why it’s producing it. So finding them in the atmosphere of Venus is interesting on that basis as well. But further analysis of that data by Clements’ team revealed weak traces of the molecule, reinforcing the theory. “To date, our analyses remain unchallenged in the literature,” said Mogul, who was not involved in the research of Clements’ team. While detecting phosphine and ammonia in Venus’ clouds is exciting, it is just the beginning of a longer journey to unravel the mysteries of that planet’s atmosphere, he said.

UBS sees the recent tech stock sell-off as a buy-the-dip opportunity for long-term investors. UBS cites attractive valuations, solid fundamentals, and fading technical factors as reason to stick with large-cap tech. But according to UBS, the recent decline in tech stocks is only temporary, and that should be apparent when mega-cap tech stocks report their second-quarter earnings results later this week. A healthy sell-off in tech stocks has led to more attractive valuations for the fast-growing sector, especially when compared to previous bubbles. "While the tech sector appears to be expensive after the rally this year, price-to-earnings multiples remain much lower than in the dot-com era, when many tech stocks had much lower-quality earnings," UBS said.

That will be the case in this jam-packed week , with the earnings from Microsoft on Tuesday, Meta Platforms on Wednesday, and Apple and Amazon on Thursday. If Alphabet said it cut back on data-center spending, then it would be alleged the company is falling behind Amazon and Microsoft in the AI race. The company also is now dogged by another competitor in search engines after ChatGPT creator OpenAI announced a prototype of SearchGPT . Apple reports on Thursday, and if you think the cloud-computing heavyweights are spending on too much AI, then you should be buying Apple. Still, as the U.S. men’s team starts its Olympic run Sunday, it begins with a roster that has drawn countless comparisons to the Dream Team. On paper, the U.S. men’s team is arguably the best team assembled since 1992. Durant is the most prolific scorer in U.S. men’s history and could, if the Americans win gold in Paris, become the most decorated Olympic men’s basketball player. A loss in the knockout stages, when there are no more second chances, and a Dream Team redux becomes a historic nightmare. In that scenario, the U.S. men’s team would be remembered forever, even if not quite held in the same reverence as the Dream Team.
