Nov 22 (Reuters) - Unions representing hospitality staff in Las Vegas said on Wednesday that workers employed at Wynn Resorts (WYNN.O) have voted in favor to ratify a new five-year contract, days after similar moves by its competitors Caesars Entertainment (CZR.O) and MGM Resorts International (MGM.N). The unions, which represent about 5,000 employees at Wynn Resorts properties, said 99% of its members voted in favor of the new agreement. Earlier this week, union members at Caesars and MGM voted to ratify their contracts. The total compensation won by the Culinary Union for workers employed at MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and Wynn Resorts casino properties is about $2 billion over the five-year contract, according to Ted Pappageorge, secretary-treasurer at Culinary Union . Meanwhile, the unions said separate negotiations for 10,000 workers including cooks, bartenders and housekeepers, are ongoing with 24 smaller casinos and resorts for a new five-year contract.

About 25% of Americans are still paying off holiday debt from 2022, according to WalletHub's November holiday shopping survey. But those already carrying a balance could find themselves sinking further into the red if they don't get a handle on their credit card debt. "If you're in a hole, stop digging," Ted Rossman, Bankrate's senior industry analyst, tells CNBC Make It. One reason you may want to avoid racking up more debt is that higher interest rates are making it more expensive to pay down. A higher interest rate means it could take longer and be more expensive to pay down your credit card debt.

Eva-katalin | E+ | Getty ImagesMillennials are holding and buying bond exchange-traded funds with more gusto than older investors — and that's likely not an ideal strategy, experts said. That's a higher allocation than Generation X and baby boomers, who had respective allocations of 37% and 31%. Millennials investing for the long term can afford to — and generally should — take more risk than older investors by allocating relatively heavily to stocks. That's because stocks typically outperform bonds over decades, said Jenkin, a member of CNBC's Advisor Council. "Millennials in their 30s probably shouldn't have 45% of their allocation in bonds," Jenkin said.

But those assurances have rung hollow as advertisements have continued to be placed on accounts posting hate speech and conspiracy theories. “Elon introduced unique risks,” marketing industry veteran Lou Paskalis, the founder and chief executive of marketing consultancy AJL Advisory, told CNN. “It’s self-destructive for any advertiser to be associated with him,” Sonnenfeld told CNN. His endorsement of the post came as the progressive watchdog Media Matters issued a report that indicated advertisements for major brands appeared next to neo-Nazi hate speech on X. Legal experts have told CNN that the lawsuit is deeply flawed and could open the billionaire up to embarrassing revelations during the discovery process.

The documents contain dozens of fraudulent resumes, online profiles, interview notes, and forged identities that North Korean workers used to apply for jobs in software development. Some of the scripts, designed to prepare the workers for interview questions, contain excuses for the need to work remotely. North Korean developers working at U.S. companies had hidden behind pseudonymous email and social media accounts and generated millions of dollars a year on behalf of sanctioned North Korean entities through the scheme, the DOJ said. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas hotel union workers voted overwhelmingly Monday to approve their contract agreement with casino giant Caesars Entertainment, signaling an end to lengthy labor disputes that had brought the threat of a historic strike to the Strip. The Culinary Workers Union announced on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that 99% of the vote favored the new five-year deal. The breakthrough deals were tentatively reached earlier this month, just hours before the union had threatened a massive walkout at 18 hotel-casinos on the Strip, including Bellagio, Paris Las Vegas, MGM Grand and Caesars Palace. By the end of the contract, Pappageorge said, union workers will be earning on average $35 hourly, including benefits. Union workers currently make about $26 hourly with benefits.

In recent years, much of my life as a consumer has shifted to what I like to call background spending. As I’ve subscribed to more apps and streaming platforms, significant sums of my money tend to drift away each month without my ever thinking about it. Spending without the hassle of spending. But while this swell of subscriptions was sold to me on the premise it would make my life more hassle-free, there was a certain sticker shock I felt upon actually discovering how much I’m spending without realizing each month ($179.45) — after I’ve already spent it, of course. When I reopened the app for the first time in eons, I was confronted with dozens of shows I’ve never heard of but to whose production budgets I’ve been contributing generously.

Falling prices of commodities like copper and lumber “negatively impacted” Home Depot’s third-quarter earnings, CEO Ted Decker told investors on the company’s earnings call earlier this week. In particular, they're noticing consumers pushing off bigger-ticket purchases like appliances, which have become cheaper compared to a year ago. But the problem with deflation is that when people begin to expect lower prices in the future, they have little incentive to make purchases right now. In China, however, prices across all goods and services were 0.2% lower in October compared to the same month last year. He also warned that US-based Walmarts could enter “a deflationary environment.”Besides eggs, other cheaper goods include airfares, gasoline, appliances and smartphones.
