July 3 (Reuters) - Australia's Kuniko (KNI.AX) said on Monday it had signed an offtake and equity investment agreement with automaker Stellantis (STLAM.MI) to support the development of its Norwegian battery metals projects. Stellantis would invest 5 million euros ($5.45 million) at an issue price of A$0.467 per share in the battery metals miner in return for a near 20% stake, Kuniko said. Kuniko shares rose as much as 58.1% to A$0.680, their highest level since Oct. 31. Under the deal, announced by Stellantis on Friday, the carmaker will also get 35% of the nickel sulphate and cobalt sulphate produced from Kuniko's Norway exploration projects for nine years. The funds from the Stellantis' equity investment will be used to advance Kuniko's brownfield and greenfield battery metals exploration projects in Norway, the company said.

LONDON, June 29 (Reuters) - Norwegian robotics firm AutoStore (AUTO.OL) said on Thursday it will appeal a London high court judgement in March which dismissed its patent infringement claims against British online supermarket and technology group Ocado (OCDO.L). Ocado, like AutoStore, licences its technology to retailers around the world and uses it for its British grocery delivery service. He issued his formal order on Thursday, but allowed AutoStore to appeal. "We can confirm AutoStore has today been granted permission to appeal the High Court decision in March 2023 regarding our UK case against Ocado for patent infringement and we will now pursue that appeal," an AutoStore spokesperson said. Judge Hacon also ordered AutoStore to pay Ocado 6.7 million pounds ($8.5 million) in costs in relation to the high court trial.

June 23 (Reuters) - Interest and investment in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells and materials, used to power electric vehicles, continue to climb in the United States. Here is a look at some of the announced LFP projects. FORDFord Motor (F.N) is planning to open a $3.5 billion LFP manufacturing plant in 2026 in Marshall, Michigan, using technology licensed from China’s CATL (300750.SZ). FREYRNorwegian battery startup Freyr (7XN.F) expects to open a $1.7 billion battery plant outside Atlanta, using technology from Aleees and 24M. ICLIsrael’s ICL Group (ICL.TA) has announced it will build a $400 million battery materials plant near St Louis, Missouri, to open in 2024.

A top portfolio manager there just revealed how it's using AI to generate superior returns. The fund is using AI to move more slowly and trade less, rather than the reverse. Wall Street firms are racing to use AI, hoping the technology can help it move quicker, save costs, and gain an edge. On the other side of the Atlantic, the investment giant Norges Bank Investment Management is using AI to slow down. But Strand's team is able to use the AI tool to decide on the timing of each buy, prioritizing buying the stocks in green, and buying the stocks in red a little bit later.
