CNN —Multiple people were shot and at least three killed in a shooting in Farmington, New Mexico, police said in a Facebook post. Officers were involved in a shooting with a suspect, who was killed on scene, police said. A Farmington police officer and a New Mexico State Police officer were shot and are being treated for their injuries in the hospital. CNN has reached out to the city’s mayor and the New Mexico governor for comment. About 46,400 people live in Farmington, which is in northwestern New Mexico, just south of the Colorado state line.

"Over the past two days, the United States Border Patrol has experienced a 50% drop in the number of encounters versus what we were experiencing earlier in the week before Title 42 ended at midnight on Thursday," Mayorkas said. Mayorkas said that U.S. Border Patrol agents had about 6,300 encounters with border-crossers on Friday and another 4,200 on Saturday, compared with more than 10,000 shortly before Title 42's expiration. Mayorkas credited the criminal penalties for migrants who illegally enter the country, which resumed under existing law after Title 42's expiration, for the decrease in crossings. Officials from communities along the border agreed they had not seen the large numbers of migrants that many had feared would further strain U.S. border facilities and towns. Just before Title 42 expired on Thursday, House Republicans approved legislation that would require asylum seekers to apply for U.S. protection outside the country, resume construction of a border wall and expand federal law enforcement efforts.

May 2 (Reuters) - The New York Stock Exchange said on Tuesday it will delist shares of First Republic Bank (FRC.N), the lender that was seized by regulators before JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) acquired most of its assets. Apart from the company's common stock, seven different types of its preferred stock will also be delisted. Trading in all the shares will be suspended immediately, the exchange said. First Republic was acquired by Merrill Lynch in 2007.
