But to get there, we'll need to spend a lot of money up front and be real about the climate costs we're already paying — even if we don't always notice them. The full costs of extreme weather are often hiddenThe biggest fires, floods, and heat waves tend to draw headlines. But for years, the more subtle effects of extreme weather had gone pretty much unnoticed. This situation could be made worse by a looming financial "mega shock," which could arise as more people wake up to the reality of the climate crisis, Butler said. Priscilla is also 14, a fact the film doesn’t shy away from. That aesthetic choice smartly steers “Priscilla” away from Luhrmann’s movie (which was much more interested in Elvis the performer) and further grounds the film in Priscilla’s perspective. The movie may also lack big musical scenes because Presley’s estate was unwilling to support the film or authorize the use of his songbook. According to one of the bankers, 20% of the KKM accounts that were initially converted to lira from foreign currency were ended in August. Of those, around two thirds were converted back to forex while the rest moved into regular lira accounts, according to three bankers. But they said depositors were cautious about moving funds into lira deposit accounts just yet given expectations that deposit rates will rise more. More will shift into plain lira accounts - rather than dollars - as that happens, they added. But that trend halted in August at a peak of more than $15.7 billion as more KKM accounts were shuttered.
