Significant pressure on productionThe US and Europe have ramped up artillery production rates to try to outgun Russia and meet Ukraine's battlefield needs. However, he noted that Israel would fight a "very" different type of war with Hezbollah than Ukraine is fighting with Russia. Ukraine could pay a priceCancian doesn't believe that Ukraine would run out of artillery projectiles. Levantovscaia said diverting artillery to Israel could potentially cost Ukraine the war, but said she wasn't "100% sold," and that Ukraine's innovation and determination could counterbalance that. Even so, Temnycky said that any new limits on arms and ammunition would "certainly" make the objective of winning the war in Ukraine harder.

Charlotte, North Carolina CNN —Donald Trump will step out onto the campaign trail Wednesday to an entirely new race and a political landscape once again irrevocably altered by an unprecedented election year. Meanwhile, Trump and his campaign are working to reimagine a playbook and operation launched to take on an unpopular 81-year-old incumbent. He predicted that Harris would start “gaining on or even leading President Trump” in the polls, though he also insisted that the “honeymoon” period would end. Trump’s appearance in Charlotte will provide his first opportunity to contrast himself with Harris before voters in a battleground state. But it was left off the list of states that the Biden campaign viewed as most winnable in a sobering post-debate assessment of the race.

A worker, called 'torchers', works in a charcoal production during scorching heat exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in Diyarbakir, Turkiye on July 18, 2024. The world registered its hottest day on record for the second time in just two days, according to the latest data compiled by the European Union's climate monitor. C3S, which has been tracking the daily global mean temperature since 1940, said Sunday's record had already shown "we are now in truly uncharted territory." The EU's climate monitor has warned that new temperature records are inevitable as the planet keeps warming. The fresh all-time high comes as excessive heat has gripped large parts of the U.S., Russia and southern Europe in recent days.

In the capital Ankara, opposition parties are calling for mass deportations, and the government is calling on the Syrian regime it once sought to topple to help resolve the problem. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is now publicly seeking a meeting with President Bashar al-Assad, the man he once labeled a terrorist, to reset relations. Before the Syrian civil war, the two leaders vacationed together, but years later, after the Syrian regime brutally crushed a public revolt, Erdogan sought to oust him from office and backed local forces fighting against him. Turkish troops remain in control of a swath of Syrian territory along the Turkish border where Syrian opposition groups are sheltering. Syrian opponents denounce the Turkish President's statements for normalization with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime in the city of Idlib, Syria on July 12.

That U.S. politicians from both major parties invited Mr. Netanyahu to Washington at all — let alone to lecture our lawmakers in the people’s house — is a disgrace. Mr. Netanyahu’s war on Gaza has already killed at least 39,000 Palestinians (many of them women and children), according to the health ministry in Gaza, displaced some 1.9 million people and spread what experts describe as a famine across the besieged enclave. The International Criminal Court prosecutor has applied for a warrant to charge Mr. Netanyahu with war crimes and crimes against humanity. History will cast Mr. Netanyahu’s visit in deservedly ugly tones. Gaza is our war, too, thanks to the indispensable military aid and political cover the U.S. government has lavished on Israel as the death toll climbs.

CNN —In his speech to Congress on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu struck a defiant tone, pledging to carry on with the war in Gaza until Israeli hostages are released and Hamas is eliminated. He defended Israel’s actions, pushing back against criticism that the war has gone on for too long and resulted in too many civilian casualties. The incident Netanyahu appeared to refer to occurred in May and killed at least 45 people at a camp for displaced Palestinians. Israeli officials have been making the claim that Hamas was stealing aid since October. UN Humanitarian Coordinator Lynn Hastings told CNN then that Hamas wasn’t stealing aid because aid wasn’t coming in.

Before the war, Gaza’s health care system was “reasonably well functional,” said Dr. Rik Peeperkorn, the W.H.O.’s representative to Gaza and the West Bank. CNN —Sunday was the hottest day in recorded history, according to preliminary data from a climate tracking agency monitoring temperatures since the mid-1900s. It’s the second consecutive year average global temperatures have crashed through shocking climate records and will not be the last, as planet-warming fossil fuel pollution drives temperatures to shocking new highs. July 21 clocked in at 17.09 degrees Celsius, or 62.76 Fahrenheit, and was the hottest day on Earth since at least 1940, according to the preliminary data from the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service. Around a hundred cities across the US are experiencing their hottest start to summer on record, and swaths of southern Europe have been grappling with triple-digit temperatures. Global climate records are typically broken by tiny fractions of a degree, as was the case with this one: Sunday’s temperature was just 0.01 degrees Celsius above 2023’s record.

"On the morning of July 23, the closing ceremony of the reconciliation dialogue among Palestinian factions was held in Beijing. During earnings season, we can gain value from the charts by judging how stocks react to their reports. We are especially mindful of support and resistance levels, watching for breakouts and breakdowns as technical catalysts. This supports upside follow-through for IQV in the weeks ahead towards resistance from a Fibonacci retracement level near $258. We ultimately expect the stock to retest final resistance, near $285, with a long-term time horizon. Long-term support on the chart is defined by the weekly cloud model, which rises to roughly $215 next month.
