Bitcoin has rallied above the $30,000 level for the first time since June 2022. The gains are driven by expectations the Fed could scale back its rate hikes, an analyst said. Bitcoin is up about 80% this year so far while Ether is up about 60% in the same period. Veteran trader Peter Brandt flagged the possible "breakout" on Twitter as Bitcoin was heading toward a key resistance level of $30,000. Teng's technical analysis of Bitcoin's chart shows prices nearing $35,000 if the upside price momentum continues.
Beck launched the company, Rocket Lab, later that same year. Running a rocket company is kind of like that scene in "Indiana Jones," where he's getting chased by that giant ball. What do you wish you'd known when you decided to start your own rocket company? At that time, that was an absurd amount of money for a rocket startup. A rocket startup from someone living in New Zealand was even more absurd.

REUTERS/Lisa Marie DavidANTIPOLO, Philippines, April 2 (Reuters) - Thousands of Filipino Catholics attending church on Palm Sunday marked the beginning of Holy Week with prayers for the health of Pope Francis as they presented palm fronds to be blessed. At a church in Antipolo City about 20 km (12.4 miles) east of Manila, hundreds of devotees attended morning mass and waved palm fronds as a sign of discipleship and remembrance of Jesus Christ. Filipino Catholics this year offered prayers for Pope Francis, who was hospitalised on Wednesday after complaining of difficulty breathing. The pope was discharged from hospital on Saturday after successful treatment for a severe bout of bronchitis and attended a Palm Sunday service in St Peter's Square. "We should all continue praying for our Pope Francis this Lenten season.

The New York Times last week recounted the memories of Ben Barnes , 84, who traveled to the Mideast in the summer of 1980, at the height of the U.S. presidential election, with his political mentor, Texas political powerhouse John Connally . There, Mr. Barnes said, Connally urged heads of state not to push for a deal with President Jimmy Carter to release the American hostages held in Iran, but to wait for Ronald Reagan to offer a better one. Highly partisan Democrats are like their Republican counterparts in that they always think their man didn’t lose but was cheated out of what was his. However: Reagan beat Mr. Carter, an incumbent president with all an incumbency’s powers, 489 electoral votes to 49. America hadn’t seen a sitting president lose in a landslide since FDR took out Herbert Hoover in 1932.
During its fourth-quarter report last month, Rocket Lab said it had begun producing the first tank structures of Neutron, as well as construction of the launch pad for the rocket. That means Neutron is targeting a "$50 million to $55 million launch service cost," Spice said. "We don't have any hard data on that but certainly, if that was to happen, that'd be an incredibly bullish thing for Neutron," Spice said. More than rocketsSpice also emphasized to the Bank of America audience that Rocket Lab is "much more than" just a rocket company. As CEO Peter Beck has previously noted, Rocket Lab aims to create an "end-to-end platform for customers" who need space-based services.
Are we going to celebrate the end of Fed rate hikes because things have started to hit the fan?" Strategists pointed to Powell's comment that financial conditions may have tightened more than it appears in traditional market measures, which would be stocks and bond spreads. "Number one, he remains unwavering on inflation, and he does acknowledge he sees a tightening of credit conditions. Briggs also called out Powell's comments about the impact from credit tightening , and the effect those actions can have. "That tightening via credit conditions can take the place of hikes (and vice versa if we don't get tighter credit conditions)," he said. "
[1/5] A general view of a main market is seen, after The International Monetary Fund's executive board approved a $3 billion, in Colombo, Sri Lanka March 21, 2023. REUTERS/Dinuka LiyanawatteCOLOMBO, March 21 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka will receive the first tranche of about $330 million from the International Monetary Fund in the next two days, and, going forward, disbursements would be tied to reviews that take place every six months, an IMF official said on Tuesday. Peter Breuer, Senior Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, Asia and Pacific Department at IMF, said debt sustainability was one of the key criteria for the IMF to approve a bailout for any economy. International dollar bonds issued by the country soared following the IMF package approval. The biggest bilateral creditors, including China, India and Japan, have guaranteed support to Sri Lanka in its efforts to put the economy back on track.
Investors will be looking for assurances from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell that the central bank can contain the banking problems. Expectations for Fed rate hikes also moved dramatically: What was expected to be a half-point hike two weeks ago is now up for debate at a quarter point or even zero. He said the Fed will not likely say it is going to pause, but its messaging could be interpreted that way. Depending on their [projections], I think the market will think this is the final hike." Swonk also expects the Fed to withhold its so-called dot plot, the chart on which it shows anonymous forecasts from Fed officials on the path for interest rates.

Given the ongoing uncertainty, turning to stock market experts to pick attractive stocks for the long term could be a good decision. Allegro expects to flourish in these two key markets and to deliver low-double-digit percentage revenue growth from fiscal 2023 to 2028. CrowdStrike's adjusted earnings per share for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2023 (ended Jan. 31) increased 57%, fueled by revenue growth of 48%. The company's adjusted EPS grew 8% and came ahead of Wall Street's expectations, while revenue growth of 18% fell short of estimates. Nonetheless, Oracle is optimistic about the solid potential of its cloud business, which delivered 45% revenue growth in the fiscal third quarter.
President Biden and the FTC want to get rid of noncompete agreements. Some former Nike workers remain subject to them. The same could be said of sportswear workers in Portland, Oregon. The same day Biden spoke to the nation, at least three former Nike workers were waiting for their noncompete agreements to end, according to a search of LinkedIn profiles. In sportswear, noncompetes have historically been used to guard industry secrets, which brands fight to protect.

Credit Suisse shares crashed more than 20% in Zurich after the bank’s biggest shareholder chose not to increase its funding, dragging down European bank stocks along with it. Why are traders seeing a connection between the Credit Suisse turmoil and the collapse of two US banks last week? “Credit Suisse has been a slowing-moving car crash for years,” wrote Peter Boockvar, chief investment officer of Bleakley Financial Group. Customers withdrew billions from Credit Suisse last year, contributing to the bank’s biggest annual loss since the financial crisis in 2008. In short, the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank didn’t cause Credit Suisse to stumble, but it did put the embattled bank under even more intense scrutiny.
Shares of the Swiss bank fell more than 24% after its biggest backer said it won't provide further financial support. Credit Suisse announced on Tuesday that it had found " material weakness " in its financial reporting process from prior years. Bank stocks were under pressure on Wednesday as the sharp drop of Credit Suisse rattled a segment of the market that was already reeling from two large bank failures in the past week. Some regional bank stocks saw even bigger declines. Credit Suisse struggles come on the heels of the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank in the U.S. Those failures caused steep sell-offs in regional bank stocks on Monday.
