CNN —The US Food and Drug Administration is warning that dangerous counterfeit versions of Botox have been identified in multiple states, putting the safety of consumers at risk. The incidents of counterfeit Botox being administered to consumers appear to be connected to products that have been purchased from unlicensed sources and then administered by either unlicensed or licensed providers. The counterfeit Botox products may be identified by the lot number C3709C3 found on the outer carton and vial, the FDA said. Counterfeit botox has been found in several states. Most often, when counterfeit Botox is sold, “the injector knows they’re purchasing something counterfeit,” Sung said.

The finalized rule aims to close what gun control advocates call the “gun show loophole” by increasing the requirements to obtain a federal firearms license, or FFL, by more specifically defining what it means to be “engaged in the business” of selling firearms. The 13-year group, known as Brood XIX, or the Great Southern Brood, is the largest periodical cicada brood, stretching across the southeastern United States. The Northern Illinois Brood, or Brood XIII, emerges every 17 years. Periodical cicadas are smaller and mostly black, with bright red eyes and orange-tinged wings and legs. Billions of cicadas are expected this spring as two different broods — Broods XIX and XIII — emerge simultaneously. However, predictions of a cicadapocalypse — in which Brood XIII and Brood XIX show up at the same place at the same time — are probably an exaggeration.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is cashing in $2.76 million on UConn's big win over Purdue Monday night in the NCAA men's championship game. FanDuel said the men's championship game saw a 52% year-over-year increase in bet count and a 42% year-over-year increase in handle. At Caesars , Monday's championship game accounted for the most same-game parlays ever placed on a college basketball game at their sportsbook. FanDuel, BetMGM and Fanatics say the championship game was their single biggest betting event on women's sports. Caesars said the women's championship saw double the previous handle record for a women's college basketball game.

So if you made bets last year, here’s what you need to do on your 2023 tax return, which is due for most people on April 15. Your winnings also may be subject to state tax, unless you live in the dozen or so states that exempt gambling winnings. It will then be up to you on your tax return to square whether you owe more or less on your winnings. So say you won $1,000 in 2023 at the tables in Vegas, but you lost $1,500 betting on last year’s March Madness tournament.

To be sure, inflation has come down dramatically from its peak above 9% in June 2022. That showed headline inflation running at 2.5% and the core rate at 2.8% in February. For their part, markets have grown nervous about the state of inflation and how it will affect rate policy. "I don't see a whole lot here that is going to move things magically the way they want to go," North said.
