CNN —Botanists have grown a long-lost tree species from a 1,000-year-old seed found in a cave in the Judean Desert in the 1980s. But the scientists conducting the new research weren’t able to identify the type of tree from the seed alone. However, the sample didn’t match any of the known Commiphora species in her database. The tree, which the study authors believe may have a biblical connection, is seen at 12 years old. Yet the tree, which is related to the myrrh tree that’s famed for its resin, never gave off any kind of scent.

Going into this debate, I assumed that both vice presidential nominees would be more focused on the tops of the tickets. It's an interesting decision given how it seems as if the Trump campaign team desperately wants to re-attach Biden’s unpopular brand to Harris. I think Trump and his team are convinced Harris needs another debate more than Trump does.

New York CNN —A married New Jersey couple that was in a severe accident during an Uber ride can’t sue the company because they and their daughter agreed to arbitration when they accepted the terms of service for a separate Uber Eats order, a court has ruled. Georgia sustained several fractures throughout her body, including cervical, lumbar, spine and rib fractures and other physical injuries that required surgeries and other procedures. Scientists with the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center began sounding the alarm as early as Sept. 23. In a YouTube video posted that morning, the National Hurricane Center’s deputy director, Jamie Rhome, described a tropical cyclone that would “briskly develop” into a hurricane. Monday night, the National Weather Service posted on X that heavy rain and powerful wind gusts would hit the Southeast later in the week. “It is not common for the National Weather Service to use words like ‘catastrophic’ to describe forecasts,” Buncombe County Manager Avril Pinder said at a news conference Thursday morning. A North Carolina man made a “calculated risk,” jumping into fast-moving, Helene-swollen waters to save a woman because he “couldn’t watch her die.”Eddie Hunnell, 57, was in Grassy Creek ahead of son Austin Hunnell’s Saturday wedding when he saw floodwaters picking up Lesley Worth’s home. “When it was happening, I was trying to make a calculated risk. How do we save her?” said Hunnell, who lives about 200 miles away in Holly Springs, just outside Raleigh. Washington CNN —New York magazine writer Olivia Nuzzi is publicly accusing her ex-fiancé Ryan Lizza, a prominent political journalist with Politico, of orchestrating a harassment and blackmail campaign against her after their split and while Nuzzi had a personal relationship with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Lizza, Politico’s chief Washington correspondent and Playbook co-author, wasn’t in attendance at a court hearing Tuesday where Nuzzi was granted a temporary no-contact order against him. Lizza hasn’t responded to the allegations in court, but he did provide a statement to CNN after being informed about the court action. Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.”A spokesperson for Nuzzi declined to comment further. New York magazine declined to comment.
