CNN —A thick layer of toxic foam has once again coated parts of a sacred river near New Delhi as the Indian capital battles an acrid and noxious smog that has settled across the city. The pungent foam contains high levels of ammonia and phosphates, which can cause respiratory and skin problems, according to experts. The river is most polluted in areas surrounding Delhi, owing to the area’s dense population and high levels of waste. Pictures from September also showed toxic foam forming on the Yamuna.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration on Tuesday imposed sanctions on 13 members of Mexico’s powerful Sinaloa cartel and four Sonora, Mexico-based firms accused of trafficking fentanyl and other drugs into the United States. The latest action follows a series of measures taken this year against members of the Sinaloa cartel, cash couriers and cartel fraud schemes. Included in the sanctions are a manager of cartel operations in Nogales who oversaw the trafficking of multi-ton quantities of drugs, authorities said, as well as members of his family and his associates. More than 100,000 deaths a year have been linked to drug overdoses since 2020, and about two-thirds of those are related to fentanyl. Mexico and China are the primary sources for fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances trafficked directly into the U.S., according to the Drug Enforcement Administration, which is tasked with combating illicit drug trafficking.

Based in part on the planned construction spending, Goldman Sachs analysts estimate that Biden’s initiatives could lead to as many as 250,000 new manufacturing jobs over the next two years. Pay growth is also cooling faster for production and manufacturing jobs, at 4.2% year-over-year in August, down from an 11% annual peak in December 2021 and compared to the national average of 4.5%, according to jobs website Indeed. By 2030, technological and cognitive skills in the manufacturing sector will be in far higher demand as the share of physical and manual tasks drops by more than a quarter from 2016, McKinsey says. The U.S. manufacturing engine may be humming along now, but employment-related complications threaten to throw sand in the gears.

"It was a very bad quarter," Cramer said, pointing to Air Product's weak forward guidance compared to rival Linde's (LIN) overall upbeat results last month. On Oct. 26, Linde posted 17% adjusted earnings-per-share growth and a lift to its profit guidance. We'll have to see at the close whether Linde shares can turn things around and go for eight. However, he added, "Air Products is proving that not to be the case." Cramer's Charitable Trust does not hold shares of Air Products but does have a stake in Linde.

Revenue was $547.5 million, topping the $524.7 million expected. Planet Fitness — Shares rallied 12.4% after the gym chain topped expectations for both earnings and revenue for the third quarter. Vivid Seats beat analysts' expectations for third-quarter revenue, while also offering strong guidance on the measure for 2023 and 2024. Tripadvisor — Shares of the travel website operator jumped 9.5% after the company beat third-quarter earnings and revenue expectations. Hims & Hers Health also raised its full-year guidance and announced a $50 million share repurchase program.
