After a miserable October, the setup for November is looking better. Barring a huge rally Tuesday, October will be the third-consecutive down month for the S & P 500 — that's unusual. 1 month for the S & P 500. It's just that stocks have sold off during earnings season because of the cautious outlook being projected on many earnings calls. The chances the S & P 500 would be down four months in a row is very small.

Shares of GE HealthCare surged roughly 5% Tuesday, to more than $66 apiece. Looking ahead to next year, our thesis is unchanged: GE HealthCare should be one of the big winners from recent advancements in Alzheimer's treatments. The wide gap in orders between the two companies suggests to us that GE HealthCare is taking market share in the industry. Guidance GE HealthCare reaffirmed most of its 2023 outlook Tuesday.

After Boebert won her last race by just 546 votes, she began revamping her campaign strategy. So-called ballot harvesting, which she's decried as an underhanded Democratic tactic, will be part of her campaign strategy. While campaigning in the district this election, Boebert seems “more empathetic" than her disruptive national profile. At events and debates in the last election, Boebert railed against then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who became a foil for bloated government, a broken system and Democratic demagoguery. Nikki Haley Surges Into Second Place in Iowa Poll

Nikki Haley is surging in support among Iowa Republicans and is now tied for second place in the battle for the GOP nomination in the Hawkeye State, according to a poll released Monday morning. Haley has the first-choice backing of 16% of Iowa Republicans – the same as Florida Gov. The poll was conducted before Trump's vice president, Mike Pence, dropped out of the race on Saturday, saying "this is not my time." Even before the realignment, Pence was struggling, having dropped from 6% support in August to 2% in the current poll. The Iowa poll reflects a new political reality for the 2024 elections, with the nominations for both major political parties appearing to be sewn up with two and a half months to go before the first nominating contest.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Paul Sewald watched the end of his first World Series game in the Arizona Diamondbacks clubhouse and the trainer's room, not from the center of a celebration on the mound as he had imagined. LONDON, Oct 27 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Sanofi (SASY.PA) investors dislike CEO Paul Hudson’s prescription to reinvigorate the pharmaceutical group’s weak valuation. Analysts polled by LSEG expect the division to hit an EBIT of 1.6 billion euros this year. On listed rival Haleon’s 15.6 times multiple, that business could be worth 25 billion euros. The rest of the Sanofi business may generate EBIT of 11.4 billion euros. The problem is that investors don’t appear to want to take the harsh medicine that leads to a cure.

The three filings submitted late on Monday follow the Republican former president's attempt earlier this month seeking to dismiss the case citing presidential immunity, a claim U.S. prosecutors rebutted last week. Trump, who is the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, had sought to delay the federal trial in Washington, currently due to begin in March, until after the November 2024 election.
