Harley-Davidson said Monday that it’s ending diversity and other progressive initiatives at the company. Harley-Davidson is the latest major American brand to backtrack from DEI policies it had supported in recent years. Harley-Davidson faced pressure online from Robby Starbuck, a conservative activist who has successfully taken on DEI policies at several American companies. The company also said it would end its relationship with the Human Rights Campaign, a leading LGBTQ+ advocacy group. Harley-Davidson joins Tractor Supply and John Deere to backtrack on policies following pressure campaigns led by Starbuck.

Fishing regulators are instituting a new rule that lobster fishermen must abide by stricter minimum sizes for crustaceans they harvest. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., was readmitted to the hospital Sunday night, just days after he was released from a weeks-long hospital stay to a rehabilitation facility, a source close to the congressman confirmed Monday. Pascrell checked himself into a hospital on July 14 with a fever, which his staff said may have been caused by a respiratory illness. Harris is also working with Mike Pyle, a former deputy National Security Advisor for International Economics in the Biden White House, these people said. After wrapping up her multi-day battleground state tour, Vice President Kamala Harris will attend a major fundraiser in San Francisco on Sunday to court West Coast donors, some of whom had pulled their support for President Joe Biden after his poor debate performance in June. Harris will court Bay Area donors using her deep roots in the area and the political blessing of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has represented San Francisco for nearly four decades in Congress and will join Harris at Sunday’s event, according to a Harris campaign official. In an interview with NBC's Andrea Mitchell on Wednesday, Pelosi said, "It wasn’t just, though, about the House. Mayor Eric Adams is expected to name Robert S. Tucker as the new commissioner of the New York Fire Department, making him the 35th person to lead the agency, according to three people with knowledge of the matter. Mr. Adams is expected to make the announcement at a news conference on Monday. Joseph Pfeifer, who served as first deputy commissioner under Ms. Kavanagh, briefly served as acting commissioner after her departure. As commissioner, Mr. Tucker will oversee a department of 17,000 employees, including firefighters and emergency medical workers. The appointment of Mr. Tucker was first reported by The Daily News on Sunday night.
