My freelance translation work is flexible and fits around my job as a university teacher. AdvertisementMarco Simões started using AI for translation in 2020. I decided to try out translation work on the side after someone at Intel suggested I work as a translator there. Using AI has meant my productivity has increased, and I can accept more jobs than I did in the past, but pay doesn't necessarily increase. Using AI tools, such as Bard and ChatGPT, I can translate around 1,000 to 1,200 words an hour.

More younger women are getting breast cancer, and doctors are scrambling to understand why. While having a baby may temporarily increase a woman’s breast cancer risk, it slightly lowers long-term risk, said Dr. Ann Partridge, co-founder and director of the Program for Young Adults with Breast Cancer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. What’s known about breast cancer in younger womenDoctors are still scratching the surface in researching why breast cancer is becoming more prevalent at a younger age. They’re not breastfeeding as much, which does increase breast cancer risk. That would indicate that obesity likely isn’t much of a factor in the rising rates of breast cancer among younger women, said Toriola, of Washington University.

While the audio was out, Trump walked around the stage, occasionally talking with technical staff and rally attendees nearby. During the roughly 17 minutes there was no audio at the Trump rally in Detroit, there was a sign saying, "Technical difficulties. It’s bizarre and raises more and more concerns for voters,” said a Harris campaign adviser after the Pennsylvania rally. After the audio failure Friday night, Trump’s Detroit rally quickly turned into a standard event for the former president. Robert Roberson, the condemned man whose execution was halted late Thursday because of an unprecedented legal gambit by Texas lawmakers, is expected to appear in person Monday at a legislative hearing in Austin, his legal representatives said. The subpoena was issued to help buy more time for Roberson, who has bipartisan support. The Office of the Attorney General quickly appealed the district court judge’s temporary injunction to the state’s highest criminal court, which agreed with allowing Roberson’s execution to continue. But lawmakers then petitioned their case to the Texas Supreme Court late Thursday as the hours ticked down before midnight — when Roberson’s death warrant was set to expire. State Rep. Brian Harrison, a Republican who helped to introduce the motion to subpoena Roberson, acknowledged Friday that although the execution was blocked, various issues remain at play.

Longtime CVS Health executive David Joyner has replaced Karen Lynch as CEO, as the company struggles to drive higher profits and stock performance, CVS announced Friday. CVS has faced challenges as higher medical costs weigh on its insurance unit, Aetna, and consumer spending drops at its retail pharmacies. It anticipates higher medical costs than previously expected, with a so-called medical benefit ratio of 95.2% in the quarter. CNBC reported last month that CVS’ board had engaged strategic advisors to weigh its options, including the potential of a breakup of its insurance and retail businesses. Lynch also stepped down from the company’s board of directors this week, the company said Friday.

In 2017, Hurricane Maria damaged three IV fluid manufacturing plants in Puerto Rico, also operated by Baxter, which led to a shortage. “Although this particular shortage on these particular IV fluids is not something we’ve encountered,” DeRienzo said. Along with IV fluids, the North Carolina Baxter facility also made specialty fluids, such as peritoneal dialysis fluid as well as irrigation fluids, used to clean wounds. Ganio said those measures won’t solve the ongoing IV fluid shortage problems long term. “The IV fluids are kind of a good example of the chronic shortages,” he said.

SUNLAND PARK, N.M. — In each of the last two summers, Laura Mae Williams, who recovers bodies for the New Mexico Medical Investigator’s Office, has had to visit the U.S.-Mexico borderlands multiple times a week. The Medical Investigator’s Office, part of the University of New Mexico Health System, used to recover only a handful of bodies a year. First responders, elected officials and advocates in New Mexico attribute the spike in deaths largely to Texas Gov. Officials, including the New Mexico Medical Investigator’s Office, also blame smugglers for the deaths, noting that in many cases they abandon people who fall behind — but only after they take their phones. “It raises an important question,” said Dr. Heather Jarrell, the chief medical examiner at the Medical Investigator’s Office, whose office marks the deaths as accidental.

CNN —America’s largest drug store chain named a new chief executive officer on Friday, with longtime CVS Health executive David Joyner replacing Karen Lynch. In August, rising costs at CVS’ insurance arm Aetna cut into profits, leading to the ousting of then-president Brian Kane. Charles Krupa/AP/FileLower reimbursement rates for prescription drugs have hit retail pharmacies, including Walgreens and Rite-Aid, resulting in flagging profits and forcing drug stores to shutter locations and cut jobs. "Yeah, my health records – I've done five exams over the last four years. Trump told CBS News in August that he would "very gladly" release his medical records, but his campaign has not done so. One in four American adults suspect they might have undiagnosed ADHD, according to a new survey commissioned by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine. Currently, just over 4% of adults aged 18 to 44 actually have a diagnosis of ADHD, according to Ohio State clinical assistant professor Justin Barterian. This disparity may be due to the prevalence — and popularity — of videos about ADHD on social media, university researchers speculate. On platforms like TikTok, videos like "5 signs you have ADHD" and "How to spot an ADHDer in public" have over 100,000 likes and even more views. "But just because we have that occasionally doesn't mean that we meet criteria for ADHD."
