Small-cap stocks are looking very good right now. Lower rates can boost smaller companies by allowing them to borrow money for cheaper and expand their businesses. Smaller companies are more vulnerable to economic cycles. Despite this recently strong performance, small caps are still lagging their large-cap counterparts for the year. To be sure, some on the Street are pointing to another driver for small caps: the potential of a Trump victory on Election Day.

CNBC contacted a dozen New York City art galleries and the same number in London to request price lists for their current exhibitions. China vowed more financial support for real estate projects that fall under its so-called whitelist and to speed up banks lending of 4 trillion yuan ($561.8 billion) for such projects, according to the nation's housing ministry. A total of 2.23 trillion yuan has been approved in loans to whitelisted developers, and that figure is expected to exceed 4 trillion yuan by the end of this year, according to a senior official from the financial regulator. New York CNN —Meta fired around two dozen employees from its Los Angeles office for misusing company meal credits for things like laundry detergent, wine glasses and acne treatment pads, a source familiar with the company confirmed to CNN. Many of the social media giant’s corporate offices feature elaborate food services to provide employees with meals as a perk. Meta’s two-year-old office near New York City’s Penn Station, for example, features a cafeteria that feels like an upscale food court, with various stalls all free for staff. An internal investigation found that some LA-based employees used the meal funds to purchase things other than food instead, or had meals delivered to their homes, the source said. Meta’s median total annual compensation for individual employees (other than CEO Mark Zuckerberg) is $379,050, the company said in a regulatory filing earlier this year.

As a global leader in digital payments, Visa has 4.2 billion credit and payment cards in circulation across more than 200 countries. Through its advanced transaction processing network, VisaNet, the company facilitates payment authorization, clearing, and settlement, and it is one of the most remarkable and consistent growth stories around — along with fellow payment processing company Mastercard. The following chart illustrates its remarkably consistent growth since the pandemic plunge (which naturally suspended considerable economic activity). While a 30 P/E is higher than the market's, the S & P trades closer to 26 times earnings; Visa should trade at a premium. The ability for consumer spending growth to continue apace is limited, so presumably, topline growth will slow somewhat.
