CNN —The two occupants of a car that exploded Wednesday at the US-Canada Rainbow Bridge border crossing are dead, a law enforcement source told CNN. The FBI, New York State Police and US Customs and Border Protection are on the scene investigating. A vehicle was trying to enter the US side of the border, according to a spokesperson for the Niagara Falls mayor’s office. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she voted against him in part because he voted for the "Democrat gay marriage bill." Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation Monday that prohibits individuals convicted of a misdemeanor related to domestic violence from possessing firearms for at least an eight-year-period. MISSION, Kan. (AP) — A Kansas grade school forced an 8-year-old Native American boy to cut off his hair after he grew it out for cultural reasons, the American Civil Liberties Union said. But in August, school officials told him that he needed to cut his hair to comply with the dress code, the ACLU said. The assistant principal then emailed the mother on a Friday, telling her she had until the following Monday to get her son's hair cut or he would be sent home. It noted that Native American children often had their hair cut when they were placed in boarding schools, which systematically abused students to assimilate them into white society. The letter said there is no legitimate reason for imposing the requirement, noting that girls are allowed to have long hair.

The report details “substantial evidence” that one of the nation’s most famous liars had violated federal laws. It only adds to the long list of news stories that have uncovered how much of what Santos told voters was not true. Today, the odds became pretty good that enough Republicans might join Democrats in voting to expel Santos. Like Trump, Santos is a symptom, not the cause of what has been happening to the Republican Party. Eliminating him from the caucus will not solve the problem at the core of the party.

Disgraced Rep. George Santos announced Thursday that he will not seek reelection after the House Ethics Committee released a blistering report detailing “potential violations of federal criminal law” on his part and referred its findings to the Justice Department. He deceived donors into providing what they thought were contributions to his campaign but were in fact payments for his personal benefit. But both failed to garner enough support, with some Republicans arguing at the time that they would wait for the Ethics Committee to release its findings. Though the committee did not recommend House action taken against Santos, another expulsion vote is expected to follow, likely once the chamber returns from a Thanksgiving recess. Meanwhile, Santos already faces a 23-count federal indictment, though he pleaded not guilty earlier this year.

The House Ethics Committee on Thursday found “substantial evidence” that Representative George Santos had violated federal law, ending a nearly nine-month investigation and setting the stage for another likely push to expel the embattled first-term Republican from New York. House investigators found evidence that Mr. Santos used campaign funds for personal purposes, defrauded donors, and filed false or incomplete campaign finance and financial disclosure reports, according to a 56-page report released on Thursday. The committee voted unanimously to refer its findings to the Department of Justice, saying that Mr. Santos’s conduct “warrants public condemnation, is beneath the dignity of the office, and has brought severe discredit upon the House.”And while the panel refrained from recommending any punitive measures, there were already indications that the report could be the catalyst for a third effort to remove Mr. Santos from office. Numerous representatives have previously said that they would support his expulsion if the committee found criminal wrongdoing or a severe breach of ethics.
