(And in doing so, gave rise to a generation of hilarious “That’s why, for this pride month, I’ve partnered with” memes. But more damaging than the cringe of a tone-deaf tweet about diversity is when companies give up on the performance altogether. This week, Molson Coors, a longtime sponsor of Pride events and partner to LGBTQ+ nonprofits, joined the list. A Molson Coors representative declined to comment beyond the memo. The addition of Gabbard is particularly notable given the tense exchanges she had with the vice president during their 2020 race that left Harris rattled. Trump’s team has been sketching out potential responses on reproductive rights with the expectation Harris will make that a focus during the debate. Ric Tapia | Getty Images Sport | Getty ImagesSports team owners benefiting from soaring team values are also facing new pressure from two of the oldest certainties in American wealth: death and taxes. With the average age of team owners rising, and team values skyrocketing into the billions, owners and leagues are increasingly focused on how to ensure smooth ownership transitions to the next generation of buyers. Succession and taxes have become especially important in the National Football League, where the average age of team owners is now over 72 and team values are all surging. The average NFL team is now worth $6.49 billion, and no team is valued at less than $5.25 billion, according to CNBC's Official 2024 NFL Team Valuations. At the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Rep. Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., was met with thunderous applause as he proudly introduced transgender advocate Sarah McBride. “She is right now the first trans person ever to address a national convention,” Maloney boasted. But at this year’s Democratic convention in Chicago, trans people were notably absent from the stage. To some trans Americans, the omission did not go unnoticed. The biggest chunk – about $1.9 million – was spent by Trump’s campaign and fundraising committees on a Trump-owned company that operates his jet. Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, said that “committees are paying the fair market rate for all venues and services” provided by Trump businesses. The dynamic of candidates shelling out thousands on Trump’s businesses while vying for his endorsement – which can make or break Republican campaigns – is an example of how politics has boosted his businesses’ bottom line. About 150 congressional candidates have reported spending campaign funds at Trump businesses, including some Democrats in the years before his first presidential bid. Walker’s campaign spent a total of nearly $215,000 at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club and his Las Vegas hotel.

Still, the Trump campaign has long worried that Kennedy’s campaign, built on conspiracies and anti-vaccine rhetoric, pulled directly from their side, especially in a handful of key states. When I was a high school educator, I got a surprising phone call from a parent one morning. I was speechless — I'd never heard someone ask to volunteer at the high school level before. AdvertisementBut I don't see many parents in school hallways in middle and high school. Family involvement dwindles every year after 5th grade, and by high school, I only see parents discussing serious stuff like grades and college admissions. Some parents who usher at plays or poetry readings enjoy it so much, they say they want to go back to high school again.

Wathen said the commission's investigatory process was slowed by Army bureaucracy in obtaining information but that the military remained cooperative. But the sergeant said law enforcement was stymied at the time because Card refused to answer his door. There were also communication gaps between the Army and the civilian hospital, the report found, which can be improved in future cases.
