SYDNEY, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Australian health authorities have recommended against getting a fifth COVID-19 vaccine shot, even as they urged those eligible to sign up for their remaining booster doses as the country's latest COVID wave grows rapidly. "ATAGI has considered international evidence as well as the local data around vaccination numbers, as well as case numbers in the pandemic and decided not to recommend a fifth dose," said Butler. "They noted that severe disease and death during that wave in Singapore was very rare for people who had had at least two doses of vaccine for COVID." New booster recommendations will be made early next year ahead of the southern-hemisphere winter. The company's vaccine for children aged six months to five years will also be approved for use on the severely immunocompromised.

Location tracking can help tech companies sell digital ads to marketers looking to connect with consumers within their vicinity. Even a small amount of location data can reveal a person’s identity and routines, they said. Google uses the location information to target consumers with ads by its customers, the state officials said. The attorneys general said Google misled users about its location tracking practices since at least 2014, violating state consumer protection laws. As part of the settlement, Google also agreed to make those practices more transparent to users.

FRANKFURT, Nov 14 (Reuters) - The president of Germany's financial regulator, Mark Branson, on Monday called on banks to increase their risk provisions while earnings are strong. Branson, speaking at a conference in Frankfurt, praised U.S. banks for setting aside "as much as they could". "Now is the time" for banks to set aside funds for a rainy day, while they are earning well, he said. Some did increase their risk provisions somewhat. “People are bored of a lack of innovation with sneakers, so it makes sense that more guys are getting into loafers and derbies,” said Mark Boutilier, 24, an Atlanta fashion content creator. At men’s spring runway shows in June, the shift to formal styles was clear. Sneakers had faded into the background. This presents a styling conundrum: How to resolve black-tie shoes with comfy shirts and trousers seemingly designed for naps? “Men used to use sneakers to dress down formal looks, but now they are incorporating dressy shoes to elevate more casual [outfits],” said Mr. Klingberg, who recently sold a client cargo pants to team with loafers.

REUTERS/Mark Blinch/File PhotoNEW YORK, Nov 9 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Wednesday has blocked the rappers Drake and 21 Savage from using fake copies of Vogue magazine to promote their new album. Conde Nast said Drake and 21 Savage had no permission to create the counterfeit magazine, which features them on the cover, to promote their album "Her Loss," or suggest Vogue's longtime editor-in-chief Anna Wintour supported them. Wednesday's order requires Drake, a Toronto native, and 21 Savage, from Atlanta, to stop distributing the fake magazine and cover, including on social media. Conde Nast said the defendants distributed the bogus Vogue issue in major metropolitan areas, with posters plastered on streets and buildings. The publisher, also known as Advance Magazine Publishers Inc, is seeking at least $4 million in damages.
The screenshot displayed Twitter’s own account profile, which included the standard blue check mark beside its display name as well as a gray check mark and the word “Official” underneath its account handle. A visit to Twitter’s currently live profile did not display the gray check mark, suggesting the feature has not yet been implemented. “Not all previously verified accounts will get the ‘Official’ label and the label is not available for purchase,” Crawford tweeted. “Accounts that will receive it include government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers and some public figures.”Crawford also confirmed that the forthcoming option to pay for a blue check mark will not include an identity verification requirement. Election security experts warned of the likelihood that bad actors could pay for a blue check mark, then change their display names to impersonate government officials or other authoritative sources of information.
Banks and corporations use the market to manage interest rate risks and traders depend on it as reference for pricing other assets. To make a swap, market participants turn to a dealer or bank to facilitate the deal. DRAINEDPart of the issue is a lack of bond market supply. CNN —Steph Curry put on a performance for the ages against the Sacramento Kings to give the Golden State Warriors a much needed 116-113 win to end a five-game losing streak. Andrew Wiggins added 25 points and 10 rebounds and Klay Thompson chipped in with 16 to help the Warriors over the line. That pattern would continue, with the Warriors bench being outscored 49-15 by the Kings. By the end of the third quarter, the Warriors were still down by nine points, but Curry took it to the next level. After the game, Curry said: “That’s the story of this team.
Efforts to investigate the 2020 election and institute changes to the state’s election procedures — the promises that helped propel DePerno onto the political map and won him former President Donald Trump’s endorsement. In Arizona, GOP gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake has repeatedly called the 2020 election “rigged” and “stolen” during the primary only to spend most of the general election talking about immigration, education, the economy and crime. After trailing in earlier polling, both Lake and Masters appeared neck-and-neck with their opponents in the campaign’s final days. Doug Mastriano, the GOP nominee who was outside the Capitol on Jan. 6 and whose campaign paid to bus people to the pro-Trump protest that proceeded the riot, has kept the 2020 election near the forefront of his campaign. “It’s people like her,” Whitmer said of Dixon, who has baselessly raised doubts about the 2020 election results, “who are the greatest threat to our democracy right now.”Dixon has defended her use of such rhetoric.
Co-CEOs of Bridgewater Associates Nir Bar Dea and Mark Bertolini. When it comes to the world of hedge funds, there's arguably no bigger name than Ray Dalio. The dispute between billionaire Dan Och and Sculptor Capital Management doesn't seem like it'll be cooling off anytime soon.
watch nowA historically weaker pound on a medium- to long-term basis has a variety of impacts on the U.K. more broadly, economists told CNBC. But, Portes said, the weaker pound is not in itself an issue for the fiscal planning the government is currently doing, with a much-anticipated budget due Nov. 17. 'Growth model is dead'According to Blyth, beyond the pain suffered by households, the higher prices caused by a weaker currency will have deeper and longer-lasting effects. The potential upside to exports was negated by Brexit, he said, pointing out that the U.K. economy had declined from 90% to 70% of the size of Germany's since the 2016 vote. It means that the old U.K. growth model is dead," Blyth continued.

"Humanity has a choice: cooperate or perish,” Guterres told delegates gathered in the seaside resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh. And our planet is fast approaching tipping points that will make climate chaos irreversible,” he said. Signatories to the 2015 Paris climate agreement pledged to achieve a long-term goal of keeping global temperatures from rising by more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Guterres said that goal will only stay alive if the world can achieve net zero emissions by 2050. The World Trade Organization, meanwhile, said in a report published on Monday that it should tackle trade barriers for low carbon industries to address the role of global trade in driving climate change.

Meanwhile, the number of "mega-deals" — or funding rounds of more than $100 million — dropped to its lowest level since 2018, CB Insights also reported. According to CB Insights, the volume of payments-related dealmaking reached nearly $4 billion, or slightly less than a third of all fintech funding. And while that's not a record-breaking amount, payments are accounting for a larger amount of the fintech funding pie. One year ago, when third-quarter fintech funding topped $36 billion in the midst of a bull market, payments accounted for roughly 20% of overall funding volume. But even amid a relative pullback in broader fintech funding, payments represent a safe, evergreen thesis because it is a largely complicated and analog space.
