Budget airlines like Spirit, Frontier, and Southwest are struggling to turn a profit. Low-cost veteran David Neeleman told BI that Spirit and Frontier should merge to survive. The still-in-service airlines Neeleman founded, like JetBlue Airways, Azul Brazilian Airlines, Canada's WestJet, and Breeze Airways, largely follow this idea. Historically, these strategies have been absent from the likes of Spirit, Frontier, and Southwest, which have stuck to all-economy aircraft with little choice. Southwest Airlines boats an open-seating policy where seats are first-co,me first-serve.

Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, framed the effort in Virginia as a commonsense way of ensuring noncitizens don’t vote. At issue are about 1,600 voter registrations that Virginia said came from self-identified noncitizens but that a US District Court said hadn’t been fully vetted for citizenship status. Noncitizens are not allowed to vote in federal elections; none of the lower court rulings had changed that fact. But documented cases of noncitizens voting are extremely rare. Those opposed to the program relied on a 1993 law, the National Voter Registration Act, which bars states from making “systematic” changes to voting rolls with 90 days of a federal election.

MANILA, the Philippines — Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte confirmed a “death squad” existed under his watch to control crime when he was Davao City mayor, but gave conflicting accounts of its makeup, first saying it was run by police officers, then by gangsters. Appearing on Monday before a Senate inquiry into his campaign against illegal drugs, Duterte identified “commanders” of the death squad which he said included former national police chief-turned senator Ronaldo dela Rosa, who was also present at the hearing. “That is the job of the police,” said Duterte, who admitted to senators that thousands of criminals had died when he was Davao mayor. Police reject allegations that the killings were executions, saying the drug suspects violently resisted arrest and that authorities acted in self-defense. Senator dela Rosa, who oversaw Duterte’s bloody crackdown when he was national police chief, previously said the death squads were “fiction.” In the hearing on Monday, he played down Duterte’s remarks, saying they should be taken as a joke.

“I don’t think anybody has ever seen anything like what happened the other night at Madison Square Garden,” Trump told a crowd of supporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida as he addressed criticism of his rally for the first time. Speaking at Mar-a-Lago, Trump mocked Democrats for drawing parallels between his rally and a Nazi rally held at Madison Square Garden in 1939. Tim Walz, said before the rally that Trump’s campaign knows “exactly what they’re doing there.”“They started to say, ‘Well, in 1939, the Nazis used Madison Square Garden,’” Trump said. Trump’s comments Tuesday downplaying the controversy over his Madison Square Garden rally came at a campaign event in which he criticized Harris and President Joe Biden for their administration’s handling of the economy and border security.

CNN —Kamala Harris on Tuesday night warned Americans that Donald Trump would open up a floodgate of vengeance against his political rivals, including ordinary Americans, while promising that she’d work for the American people. “On day one, if elected, Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list. “Donald Trump intends to use the United States military against American citizens who simply disagree with him. My 15-year-old daughter, Kamberlyn, ate the same meal at McDonald's, a Quarter Pounder with cheese and extra pickles, on September 25 and September 27. Ten days later, we were transferred to the nearest children's hospital for her to receive dialysis treatment for a life-threatening complication of E. coli. Adidas has reached an out-of-court settlement with rapper Ye to end all legal proceedings between them, the sportswear brand said on Tuesday, adding that no money changed hands in the agreement. Adidas and Ye had been embroiled in multiple lawsuits for the past two years since the German company ended a partnership with the rapper previously known as Kanye West over antisemitic comments he made. "There isn't any more open issues, and there is no... money going either way, and we both move on," CEO Bjorn Gulden told reporters on a conference call, declining to give further details of the deal. "There were tensions on many issues, and... when you put the claims on the right side and you put the claims on the left side, both parties said we don't need to fight anymore and withdrew all the claims," Gulden added.

And the legal challenges could continue for weeks or months to come. The legal team also relies on a team of advisers, including longtime Biden lawyer Bob Bauer, who advises on litigation strategy and voter protection, and former US Solicitors General Don Verrilli and Seth Waxman. In addition, the Harris legal team is supported by a “field counsel” program that coordinates with local firms in each state that can provide specialized knowledge about election law and procedures in each jurisdiction. Sources close to the Trump legal team say they have not only focused on recruiting legal firepower but on identifying viable legal challenges. “What we have to do is protect every voter and every vote, which is what we’re doing,” said Remus, of the Harris legal team.

Little did I know second puberty is not an official term but one used regularly when talking about perimenopause.
