"The timing of the futures ETFs could hardly be worse," said Vetle Lunde, senior analyst at K33 Research. Trading volumes for the ether futures ETFs remained below $2 million on their first day, according to K33 Research. Trading volumes of six exchange-traded funds tracking ether made a subdued start after launching on Oct. 2BACK TO BITCOIN? The newly launched ETFs tracking solely ether futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, from ProShares (EETH.P), VanEck and Bitwise (AETH.P), have all dipped over 6% since launch. Ark Invest's Cathie Wood said Monday that her innovation darlings are poised to lead the market once bonds start to rally and push down interest rates. The widely followed investor has been betting on stronger-than-expected deflationary forces, which could eventually bring down bond yields. The innovation fund has suffered a big investor exodus this year, with $773 million in total outflows, according to FactSet. Wood said it was due to investors taking some chips off the table after the fund's strong rally. The investor continues to be bullish on the artificial intelligence boom, believing it is an antidote to inflation and a big driver of productivity .

At one point Monday morning, bitcoin surged above $30,000 in a sudden spike on an unconfirmed report that the iShares spot bitcoin ETF had been formally approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Cryptocurrencies briefly soared to start the week as hopeful investors weighed the likelihood that the U.S. will finally see a bitcoin ETF in the coming months. Last week, bitcoin had jumped on Friday on news that the SEC would not appeal a ruling in Grayscale's lawsuit against regulators. In June of 2022, Grayscale sued the SEC over its denial of the company's application to convert the popular Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) to an ETF. To be sure, bitcoin is coming off its worst week since Aug. 18 and first negative week in six.

"We expect to receive a permanent authorization through the VEU process," TSMC said, noting that it did not previously need to apply for VEU status. Taiwan Economy Minister Wang Mei-hua said earlier on Friday that TSMC has received the waiver from the United States to supply U.S. equipment to the company's factory in China. BENGALURU, Oct 11 (Reuters Breakingviews) - Global CEOs are under pressure from investors to adopt generative artificial intelligence into their businesses. Outsourcers like $200 billion Accenture are sounding the alarm. Accenture sold $300 million in generative AI deals in the year to August, less than 1% of its $72 billion in total new bookings. Blackstone-backed Mphasis, a smaller firm, says one-third of its total contract value of $707 million for the quarter to the end of June was from “pure AI deals”. The full spectrum of how businesses can use generative AI is still emerging but there are obvious applications: customer support agents and coders are seeing productivity increases of 14% and 55% respectively.

Since 1949, all female recruits have gone through boot camp at the South Carolina base; the 4th Battalion was created in 1986 as the women's unit. Inside the pool, men and women struggle side by side, jumping off a platform and swimming to the other end. Some measure of all-male companies would be necessary no matter what because there just are not enough female recruits to go around. The split, she said, divided them into “male Marines” and “female Marines,” and that shaped the men’s view of the women and made it more difficult for them to work together as they moved along. Young female recruits, who usually come from high schools where there is little separation, acknowledge the differences but voice no complaints.

The focus for this quarter's earnings reports will be on deal signings as well as the split of new deals versus renewals to assess fiscal 2025 growth, the analysts said. J.P.Morgan expects high single-digit earnings growth, in percentage terms, for large-cap IT companies in fiscal 2025, while market expectations are for double-digit growth.
