Liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage units at Grain LNG importation terminal, operated by National Grid Plc, on the Isle of Grain on August 22, 2022 in Rochester, England. Jacob Mandel Senior research associate for global energy markets at Aurora Energy ResearchFears of strike in Australia, one of the world's biggest exporters of liquified natural gas (LNG), have recently pushed up European gas prices — and analysts expect near-term volatility to persist. Jacob Mandel, senior research associate for global energy markets at U.K.-based consultancy Aurora Energy Research, said the global natural gas market was currently "very tight" and "very little supply flexibility" means that strike action in Australia could send European gas prices higher. He said that European gas prices could climb to above 40 euros ($42.9) per megawatt hour if the strikes go ahead as planned. The front-month gas price at the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF) hub, a European benchmark for natural gas trading, traded at 33.5 euros on Tuesday.

I hear a lot at work or, after a few drinks, all my friends speak Norwegian. I googled "American girls in Norway" and anyone who popped up, I would just send them a cold message on Facebook. You also make plans with friends to stay social because it's so easy to go home and hibernate and just go to bed. But if you plan to meet for a glass of wine after work, or go for a walk, hike, cross-country ski, or snowboard, that's really fun.

REUTERS/Chen Aizhu/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Oil futures climbed about 1% to a one-week high on Friday as U.S. diesel prices soared, the number of oil rigs dropped and a fire broke out at a refinery in Louisiana. Brent futures rose $1.12, or 1.3%, to settle at $84.48 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 78 cents, or 1.0%, to settle at $79.83. Diesel futures soared about 5% to a near seven-month high, boosting the diesel crack spread , a measure of refining profit margins, to its highest since January 2023. "The main thing was concern about diesel prices, the diesel crack spread and worries about diesel shortages when refineries go into maintenance," said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Price Futures Group. He added prices also drew support from a fire at a Louisiana refinery and a drop in U.S. oil rigs.

An inaccurate table of record-high temperatures in Europe circulating online shows that a handful of records set before 1950 still stand, but also that most records in specific cities were set after 2000. !” to imply that recent heat records set in Europe are not new. However, the post’s implication that record-high temperatures disprove climate warming is unsupported by further evidence. Temperatures for Europe as a whole show long-term warming trends with several countries having revised their all-time heat records over the past few years. Historical local heat records are not evidence for or against overall climate warming.

"There is no discussion on whether the company is in violation of these rules ... Today Meta breaks GDPR rules," she told the court, speaking on the last day of a two-day hearing.
