This is the first slowdown in demand for personal luxury goods — which include clothing, bags, jewelry and cosmetics — in 15 years, excluding the Covid-19 lockdown period, according to the Wednesday findings. It noted that overall luxury spending is forecast to remain flat year-on-year in 2024 at around 1.5 trillion euros ($1.59 billion), even as segments including autos, travel and fine wine record modest growth. "For this production, our cast was also on stage in character during intermission, which was when they found out as well," according to a statement by the Fowlerville Community Theater. The Fowlerville Community Theater drew direct parallels between the play — adapted from the famed diary of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl killed by Nazis in the Holocaust — and the events of Saturday night. "The presence of protesters outside gave us a small glimpse of the fear and uncertainty felt by those in hiding," the statement said.

HONG KONG — Hong Kong’s top leader on Tuesday warned President-elect Donald Trump not to interfere in the Chinese territory’s internal affairs after he said he would “100%” free the imprisoned pro-democracy activist and tycoon Jimmy Lai. He said Hong Kong, whose government denies that judicial independence is under threat, also valued the rule of law. “In these respects, I hope that all countries will respect the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and avoid political interference that could affect the judiciary and normal commercial activities in Hong Kong,” he said. In August, fellow cast member Bowen Yang said on a podcast that a male “SNL” host made multiple cast members cry because the host hated their ideas for sketches. “I’m gonna come out and say, at long last, that I’m the cast member that he made cry and he’s the host that made someone cry,” she said in the video. Musk didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment late Monday about Fineman’s video. Fineman didn’t say which sketch it was, but she said it made it onto the show and turned out well.
