Church simply copied and pasted the resume into ChatGPT, prompted it to make the resume shorter and saw what it would do. There's one more reason Church advocates for using ChatGPT on your resume: It helps you stay up-to-date with the latest technology. As an employee, "if you're using tools to help you drive better outputs," he says, "God, I want that." "If you're not using tools that can help you build an amazing resume," he says. "I'm going to assume that you're not going to be using tools to help you be an amazing employee."

To the Editor:Re “What New York City Needs to Defy the Odds Again” (editorial, Aug. 6):The editorial board accuses our administration of lacking the vision to tackle the issues facing our city as it emerges from a once-in-a-century pandemic. But running a city effectively means making sure that the basics work better than ever — especially in the aftermath of tragedy. Today, overall crime is down, our streets are cleaner and we have brought back a staggering 99.9 percent of private-sector jobs. Daily subway ridership has surpassed the four million mark — not once, but five times since April 20 of this year. This is the result of a steadfast commitment to getting big and small things done — despite this paper’s frequent assertions to the contrary.

I recommend incoming college freshmen buy steamers and dry-erase boards for their dorms. As a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, I know how stressful dorm shopping can be. The mattress topper is also not likely to transfer to your college apartment once you leave dorm life behind. You probably won't need a bed caddyPretty much anything you would put in a bed caddy just ends up on your desk or on the shelf or drawers you get assigned. A diffuser can annoy your new roommateHaving a diffuser probably won't be allowed in your dorm building, but it's also something that could disturb the peace with your roommate.

But in the adjacent 560-square-foot room — reached through a large glass door — the couple’s priorities become clear: The 19th-century oak table at which Råman works, a relic from a nearby castle, sits in the center of the almost empty space. Every piece has a story: “This is a French pipe for bird hunting calls,” she said, picking up a thin carved wooden straw. “This one with the little pouf at the end? And here are my grandfather’s calipers, which I use constantly. “They remind me of my life,” she said.

On Thursday, California regulators voted in favor of expanding robotaxi services across the city. On Thursday, regulators at the California Public Utilities Commission voted 3-to-1 in favor of greenlighting the expansion of robotaxi services across the entirety of San Francisco. This signaled their confidence in the safety of driverless vehicles for more than 800,000 citizens. It is this that will linger in the minds of San Francisco's residents as robotaxis go mainstream in the city. This does, of course, pale in comparison with the number of accidents that take place daily in regular vehicles, but it highlights challenges for driverless vehicles nonetheless.

Why nuclear fusion is so important for global energy needsWe see the colossal power of nuclear fusion in action every day — the sun. Meaning that unlike fossil fuels, nuclear fusion doesn't contribute to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere that are driving climate change. It was a major breakthrough and the first time a fusion experiment had ever generated an energy surplus. Why nuclear fusion beats nuclear fissionCurrent nuclear power plants use fission to make energy. While fission creates a chain reaction, nuclear fusion reactors of the future would not, avoiding the risk of a meltdown.

Morgan Stanley named several stocks to play Europe's investment in renewable energy — and highlighted a "once-in-a lifetime" opportunity in the electricity sector in particular. Earlier this year, the European Union raised its renewable energy targets in the face of the energy crisis that followed Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The bank estimated the transition to green power sources will cost around 5 trillion euros ($5.5 trillion) between now and 2030. Growth opportunity "The EU and UK renewables targets imply significant growth investment opportunities for renewable developers," the bank said. Though Morgan Stanley is positive on the opportunities for renewable energy companies, it said the EU's targets would be "hard to achieve."

General Motors said Tuesday that it planned to equip all its electric cars and trucks with the capability to act as backup power supplies during blackouts. The decision to install two-way charging technology in Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC electric cars and trucks, enabling them to power homes in an emergency, shows how carmakers are marketing the vehicles as not just cleaner than their gasoline counterparts, but also more practical. The technology will begin appearing in vehicles this year, including an electric version of the Silverado pickup and an electric Cadillac Escalade, which G.M. electric vehicles will have what is known as vehicle-to-home technology, the company said. planned to discontinue the compact car but reversed the decision last month after people complained about the disappearance of one of the most affordable electric vehicles.

Land Cruiser models are relatively big cars that come with a higher profitability for Toyota, just as is the case for some other models such as its Alphard van, said Seiji Sugiura, an analyst at Tokai Tokyo Research Institute. The new Land Cruiser will become available in Japan in the first half of 2024, and come to the United States in the spring of that year, Toyota said, adding that suggested retail pricing in the United States will start in the mid-$50,000 range. Toyota said it will offer gasoline and diesel-powered versions of the new Land Cruiser in markets such as Western and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and also bring a smaller Land Cruiser version to Japan in the winter. The Land Cruiser and the Lexus LX and GX, which are luxury SUVs, have together sold 11.3 million units as of the end of last month, Toyota said.

Investors should get off the sidelines on Gap given the retailer's potential for business improvement, according to Barclays. Her $13 price target implies shares could rally 26.2% from Monday's close. Yih said the company could see margin upside with a shift to cleaner inventory levels and mitigated freight challenges. Despite the opportunity to recapture some of the margin, Yih noted the company can do more work to stabilize the business and make it more malleable to consumer demand signals. Between the new management and potential for margin capture, she said the company's valuation multiple could be raised.

The first position we are adding to is GE Healthcare Technologies . GE Healthcare fared much better than Dutch peer Phillips, which last week said its orders fell 8% in the second quarter. The difference in the two order rates suggests GE Healthcare is gaining market share. With the data from 2022 in and final, we’ve been poring over the data — including our experiment in Wisconsin — to identify opportunities for improvement. The big Wisconsin mail experiment — where we paid voters up to $25 dollars to take a mail survey — didn’t reveal anything especially alarming about our typical Times/Siena polls. On many measures — gun ownership, evangelical Christianity, vaccination status — the Times/Siena poll looked more conservative than the mail poll. The Wisconsin study did offer ambiguous evidence that Times/Siena phone respondents lean a bit farther to the left than the respondents to the mail survey. We’re reordering our questionnaires to let us look at and potentially use respondents who drop out of a survey early.
