A Virginia man has been charged with making numerous death threats against Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. Frank Carillo, of Winchester, Virginia, posted a series of violent threats about Harris last month using an alias on the conservative social media site GETTR, according to a criminal complaint unsealed in the Western District of Virginia on Friday. Investigators alleged that Carillo had posted 19 times about Harris, including threats to shoot, stab and burn her alive. Investigators said a search of Carillo's home turned up two guns — a handgun that he purchased last year and an RF-15 rifle that he bought this year. An Alabama man indicted for allegedly threatening election workers in Arizona has pleaded guilty to one count of sending interstate threats, federal prosecutors said. Brian Ogstad of Cullman, Alabama, was indicted by a federal grand jury in February after Maricopa County, Arizona, election workers reported receiving numerous threats from him via social media. Following the 2022 state primary in Arizona – which was marked by the proliferation of numerous conspiracy theories regarding the integrity of the electoral process – Ogstad sent direct messages to Maricopa County officials, including: “You did it! “We cannot allow threats of violence against public servants to become normalized.
