She's now engaged, and I've learned how awful and toxic I was to her. That's why I wasn't too surprised when I recently learned she is now engaged, and she's had enough of me and my toxic traits. But it was also a textbook example of a toxic relationship. She's now engagedUnderstandably, after every episode of our toxic love story, she grew further away from me. Losing contact with her gave me the space I needed to reflect on my love life and the true meaning of loneliness.

CNN —The ancient Lycians knew a thing or two about democracy. Drive around the coast of this beautiful region and you’ll never be too far from a spectacular city of the dead – elaborate tombs carved by Lycians into the sides of cliffs overlooking towns, valleys and shorelines. This cliff tomb above the city of Fethiye is a great place to watch the sun go down. It’s a mystery, says Catherine Draycott, an associate professor of archaeology at the UK’s Durham University, who has studied Lycian cliff tombs, as well as sarcophagi and another rarer variation — sarcophagi placed atop pillars. There are plenty of less extreme Lycian tomb raids to enjoy in this corner of Turkey.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Police in Australia seized a record 2.3 tons of cocaine and arrested 13 people in raids after the suspects’ boat broke down off the coast of Queensland, authorities said Monday. The smugglers made two attempts to transport the drugs to Australia by sea from a mothership floating hundreds of miles offshore, Jay said. Authorities have seized more than one ton of cocaine before, Jay said, but the weekend’s haul was the biggest ever recorded in Australia. Some were arrested on the boat, while others were waiting on shore to collect the cocaine, police said. “Australia is a very attractive market for organized criminal groups to send drugs such as cocaine,” Jay said.

CNN —Australian police seized the country’s largest haul of cocaine aboard a fishing boat that had broken down near the coast of Queensland, arresting 13 people alleged to be part of a drug-smuggling syndicate. Authorities tracked a recreational fishing boat as it traveled out to sea where it allegedly met a mothership in international waters to fetch the cocaine – some 2.34 metric tons with a street value of nearly half a billion dollars. Police seized their chance to board the boat, arresting two men at sea in a joint investigation between federal and local forces. Police found 2.34 metric tons of cocaine wrapped in bales with roped netting around them on a recreational fishing vessel. Among the haul was 225 metric tons of cocaine, 5 tons of which was found aboard a semi-submersible vessel plying a marine trafficking route from Colombia to Australia, according to the Colombian Navy.

"Without the ability to rearm at sea, our service combatants must return to port, sometimes thousands of miles away," Del Toro said at the time. Del Toro said the US Navy expected to start deploying TRAM within the next two to three years. PEACHAM, Vt. — The last thing John and Jenny Mackenzie saw as they fled their Vermont home with their daughters, dog and two guinea pigs last summer was their cars upended and propelled away by rushing flood waters. “It was just like it was a horror movie at that point,” John Mackenzie said of the surreal scene on that July 10 night. “We lost both of our vehicles, our home and our barn and at least half of our possessions,” Jenny Mackenzie said. Donations from friends, family and others in their community have helped the Mackenzies find a new house in time for Thanksgiving, giving them hope amid ongoing challenges. “It’s unbelievable the way that we were supported and we’ve been trying to find ways to communicate that gratitude,” said John Mackenzie, 49.
