New York CNN —A disturbing video of a man holding what he claimed was his father’s decapitated head circulated for hours on YouTube. He spent more than a week in an inpatient mental health unit, but once home, he was offered sparse mental health resources. Despite decades of research into suicide prevention, suicide rates among Indigenous people have remained stubbornly high, especially among Indigenous people ages 10 to 24, according to the CDC. Experts say that’s because the national strategy for suicide prevention isn’t culturally relevant or sensitive to Native American communities’ unique values. Several tribal communities are attempting to implement a similar system in their communities, said Cwik. Pamela End of Horn, a social worker and national suicide prevention consultant at IHS, said the Department of Veterans Affairs “has a suicide coordinator in every medical center across the U.S., plus case managers, and they have an entire office dedicated to suicide prevention.

Lucy Worsley Photo: PBSInspiring one of the largest police pursuits of her time, a certain celebrated detective novelist created a lingering real-life mystery by disappearing for 11 days in 1926. But she has seldom gone missing since—not from print, movies, the trans-Atlantic consciousness or public television, where another popular PBS import autopsies the writer in “ Agatha Christie : Lucy Worsley on the Mystery Queen.”Agatha Christie: Lucy Worsley on the Mystery Queen Begins Sunday, 8 p.m., PBSMs. Worsley’s investigations have largely concerned Tudors, Georgians, Victorians and U.K. Christmas traditions, but in this three-part and nearly three-hour deep dive, she explores not just the biography of the world’s best-selling novelist but what made her the writer and woman she was. The 1926 vanishing act isn’t even mentioned until episode 2. First we see the way the author’s eccentric family, its evaporating fortune, her traumatizing experiences as a World War I nursing volunteer and her work in the hospital dispensary (where she learned about poisons) influenced the 70-odd novels (as well as plays and short stories) that continue to disturb and fascinate readers across the globe. Ms. Worsley’s idea—a good one—is to track Christie’s life alongside her crime-ridden imagination and see where and whether the two intersect.

Ardith Lindsey, a managing director at Citi, alleged that her 15-year career at the bank had increasingly become a “traumatizing” experience, especially after she ended a relationship with a former supervisor. The supervisor, Mani Singh, then sent her dozens of threatening text messages, according to her lawsuit. Mark Costiglio, a Citi spokesman, said the bank had opened an investigation shortly after Ms. Lindsey disclosed the relationship in November 2022 and complained about Mr. Singh’s alleged conduct and messages. “When she reported the vile text messages to us, she described the relationship as having been consensual,” Mr. Costiglio said. He added that years earlier, Citi had investigated a personal financial transaction between the two, and that Ms. Lindsey described Mr. Singh as a friend at the time.

While journalists' access to the war in Gaza is limited, a flood of video from all sorts of sources documents what is — and isn't — going on. That means combing through an endless supply of video posted on sources like X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, Telegram and Facebook. Sometimes images from video games are passed off as real, but experts can usually spot them. Satellite images, video and photos helped The Washington Post track where Israeli forces went during their initial incursion into Gaza.

New York (AP) — Manhattan prosecutors on Thursday dropped all charges against a woman who accused the movie star Jonathan Majors of assault, less than a day after she was arrested by New York City police following his allegation that she initiated the physical confrontation. Other journalists say they are getting threats and being harassed on social media. In Israel, many journalists are covering the war while processing their own grief and shock over the surprise attacks by Hamas on Oct. 7. Expressing dissenting opinions has become even more fraught than in previous conflicts, said Anat Saragusti, a senior staff member for the 1,500-member Union of Journalists, an Israeli organization with 1,500 members. Journalists and media experts attributed the change to several factors: The attacks by Hamas have been especially traumatizing for Israelis. And the spread of misinformation, particularly on WhatsApp and social media platforms like Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter, has intensified existing viewpoints.

The blistering immigration policy that Donald J. Trump enacted when he was in the White House shifted his party’s baseline on the issue to the right. His policies are now standard Republican fare: Calls to “build the wall” once set apart the right-wing fringe, but several Republican candidates now support even more exceptional measures, such as using military force to secure the border or ending birthright citizenship. Here is a look at where the candidates stand. Donald J. TrumpHis policies cemented hard-line immigration stances in the G.O.P. As recently as May, during a CNN event, he did not rule out reinstating that policy.
