AdvertisementBut all that changed the moment I discovered the Premier Cruises' Premier Princess package on Princess Cruises during a family vacation on the Regal Princess in December. Although my parents, brother, and brother's girlfriend went à la carte with their onboard purchases, my fiancé and I ordered the premier package. Here's why it may be worth considering if you're planning to sail with Princess Cruises. AdvertisementAt first glance, that sounds like a significant additional line item — but not when you compare the included items to the cruise's à la carte costs. If you're keeping tabs, I've now accounted for more than the cost of the premier package with just drinks, gratuities, and WiFi.

First off, driving instead of flying saved us a lot of moneyMy family added a road-trip component to our trip. Daryl AustinWe saved money by driving to Disney instead of flying. AdvertisementLastly, we saved money by cutting back on character-dining experiences and sharing most of our mealsOur family split meals at Disneyland when we could. In hindsight, this means we could've saved some serious money on tickets and food costs by cutting out our last two days at Disney. Otherwise, my wife and I will be dreading the next Disney vacation nearly as much as our kids will be eagerly anticipating it.

Washington, DC CNN —The Federal Reserve is in no rush to cut interest rates, according to Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s written testimony submitted to congressional lawmakers, released Wednesday. Recent economic data showed that price pressures persisted in January, leading investors to recalibrate their expectations for rate cuts this year. Still, the timing and pace of rate cuts remains up in the air. Too soon to cut rates? In a recent interview with CNBC, Richmond Fed President Thomas Barkin said “we’ll see” if the Fed cuts rates in 2024.

My 11-year-old son and I traveled nearly 27 hours from Boston to St. Louis via Amtrak. I booked a private bedroom and two roomettes to ensure we'd be comfortable. Our 27-hour train ride wasn't cheap, but I've never regretted the experience we had staying in a bedroom and private roomettes. For companies that specialize in this area, like Best Buy, that has contributed to several years now of sluggish sales. AdvertisementBeyond the pull-forward effects, Best Buy CEO Corie Barry laid some of the blame for the continuing sales lull at the feet of tech brands. Indeed, tech companies haven't exactly inspired shoppers to race into their nearest Best Buy for an upgrade, especially when they could buy tickets to a Taylor Swift concert instead. Other tech companies are tossing some bold ideas at the walls too. Either way, whatever the next buzzy tech may be, Barry says Best Buy would love for you to come check it out in their stores.

British Airways' first-class cabin is more luxurious than its business-class section, but I'm not sure I'd pay the full price to experience it again. The upgrade was worth $500, but I probably wouldn't spend thousands on a first-class seat in the future. The difference between business class and first class comes down to details and individual preferences. Arriving at my final destination well-rested and refreshed was worth the $500 upgrade. And though I think my $500 was well-spent on my first-class experience, I don't know if I would be willing to pay full price.

The Fed shouldn't waste rate cuts right now and risk a resurgence of inflation, "Big Short" investor Steven Eisman said. AdvertisementThe US economy is healthy, which means the Fed shouldn't needlessly cut rates, "The Big Short" investor Steven Eisman said. AdvertisementBut Eisman thinks there's no need for the Fed to cut rates without a significant negative data point. GDP, jobs, and inflation data have all been strong in the past few months. The commercial real estate sector seems to be crumbling, but the office market crash at the center of those gyrations is not big enough to knock down the economy, Eisman said.
