Zhang Yiming, 41, co-founder of TikTok’s parent company ByteDance, topped the 2024 Hurun China Rich List, released Tuesday. His wealth reached $49.3 billion, as assessed by research, media and investment group Hurun Inc, which publishes the ranking of the country’s richest people. ByteDance also holds China’s popular news app Toutiao and Douyin, TikTok’s sister app in China. Some 3 million people tuned in to the broadcast on Chinese shopping platform Taobao, which was the first time a Chinese firm has put tickets for space tourism up for public sale. Authorities are investigating the second incident in a month in which a Jewish student attending the University of Pittsburgh was attacked, possibly motivated by the victim’s religion. The FBI, which is currently assisting University of Pittsburgh Police, said it has opened its own investigation. According to university police, the student was walking off campus early Friday morning when a group of six to eight men assaulted the unidentified victim. A bystander intervened and ended the assault,” Pittsburgh University Police said in a news release in which it described the incident as a “Hate Crime/Assault.”The student’s condition was not immediately clear. Friday’s attack follows an Aug. 29 incident at Pitt in which two Jewish students were attacked by a man wielding a glass bottle.

Biles said in a press release that she is “so excited” and described the tour as “a victory lap around the US.”“It’s more of a celebration tour,” Biles told CNN’s Coy Wire ahead of the tour’s upcoming fourth show in San Jose on Saturday. Biles and co. visited Los Angeles on Friday, with the next leg of the tour scheduled to take place in San Jose on Saturday. This is the second Gold Over America Tour that Biles has led. The tour has been referred to by its acronym “GOAT,” more than likely a nod to Biles’ legendary standing in professional gymnastics.
