CNN —US intelligence has assessed that Russian operatives were behind a fake video purporting to show someone destroying mail-in ballots in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, that circulated on social media Thursday. CNN reported earlier Friday that US investigators suspected that Russian operatives were behind the fake video, according to two sources briefed on the matter. The Board of Elections in Bucks County, north of Philadelphia, was quick to debunk the video on Thursday. But the video was hatched by Russian operatives, according to Darren Linvill, an expert on Russian disinformation campaigns at Clemson University. Russian operatives have tried to denigrate Harris’ campaign, Iranians have tried to undercut Trump’s, while China has largely focused on down-ballot races.

Younger Black men have received increased attention from the Harris campaign in recent days. Since January, Black Men Vote has been reaching out to its target audience in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, where the group says it has registered more than 100,000 Black men to vote. Black Men Vote has also partnered with barbers, who they’ve trained as voting ambassadors to talk to clients about civic engagement. READING, Pa. — A Pennsylvania woman has been sentenced to two life terms without parole on murder convictions in the deaths of her two young children, who were found hanging in the basement of their home five years ago. Owen Snyder, 22, the older brother of the slain youngsters, who was 17 at the time of their deaths, called the defendant a “monster” he no longer considered his mother. But while White women with a college degree have trended toward the Democrats in the presidential campaigns since then, the White women without a college degree have moved sharply in the opposite direction. She acknowledges that Trump’s alarms have resonated among working-class White women, especially older ones. Eleven people were hospitalized after eating wild and apparently toxic mushrooms on Friday night, a fire agency that serves Pennsylvania Dutch Country said. The station reported that family members foraged wild mushrooms and ate them that night. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says eating mushrooms foraged outdoors should almost never be done except by trained experts known as mycologists. Most of the known mushroom poisonings and deaths in the United States involve foraging of amanita phalloides mushrooms, known as "death caps," in the wild, the CDC said in a report on the toxic fungi. Eating them can cause death as well as abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration and liver damage, the CDC said.
