Alexandria, Va.Why do urban areas constantly get more expensive and exclusive? My neighborhood provides a clue. A proposed redevelopment of a single property in Del Ray, a much-loved part of Alexandria, recently died after a yearlong fight. The brouhaha, which divided the community, shows how the not-in-my-backyard mindset blocks virtually any increase in housing supply, even those that strive to maintain local character while making relatively modest changes.
The other kind of search — "exploratory search" — is the hard one. That's where you don't know what you don't know. When you're scrolling through the links in a Google search, looking for "esoteric shit," as one search expert calls it, you see some pages that just look dodgy, maybe in ways you can't even totally articulate. But search chatbots can fake all that. Google's search pages already aren't fully trustworthy — they overindex YouTube video results, for example, because YouTube is a subsidiary of Google.

Now, as a docent, she appreciates being able to step back and learn about the history of Alexandria, Va., the city where she lives. Ms. Sheetz, 67, was chief of staff for three different congressmen during the 1980s and ’90s. But over time, the schedule began to take a toll, she says. And as political polarization grew, the job became less enjoyable, and she decided it was time for a new career.
REUTERS/Amr Abdallah DalshSept 25 (Reuters) - Egypt's natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) export revenue reached $8 billion in its 2021/22 fiscal year after volumes increased by 7.2 million tonnes, the Egyptian cabinet said on its Facebook page on Sunday. Egypt earns about $500 million monthly from natural gas exports and aims to raise that figure to $1 billion "in the coming period", Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said in a statement last week. Egypt has been pushing to maximise its exports of natural gas to generate foreign currency revenue after coming under financial pressure due to the impact of the war in Ukraine. The government says gas exports have been boosted after the it introduced an electricity rationing plan in August.
