I tried the viral 6-to-1 grocery-shopping method to see if it could improve my life. I saved money and minimized food waste, so I plan on using the 6-to-1 method again in the future. The 6-to-1 grocery-shopping method went viral when Chef Will Coleman posted a video on TikTok about how he grocery shops. So, I did the same when I tried the 6-to-1 method. Overall, the 6-to-1 method was handy, and I'd use it againI used almost all the groceries I purchased for this experiment.

Photo by Heidi GutmanFrankel's path from reality TV to Skinnygirl to actingFor the unfamiliar, Frankel wasn't just in reality TV — she made Housewives history when she founded Skinnygirl Cocktails and then sold it in 2011. The deal was big enough to prompt networks to include so-called "Bethenny Clauses" in reality TV contracts, which require reality stars to give the networks a cut of businesses promoted on air. "I left reality TV and honestly thought the faucet would turn off because that's what happens, and I was fine with that," she said.

Gluten-free English muffins make breakfast easy and tasty. Trader Joe's gluten-free English muffins toast perfectly. Aefa MulhollandThe English muffins are fantastic to have in the freezer when I need to rustle up eggs Benedict or breakfast sandwiches for gluten-free guests. Once toasted, they have a surprising amount of flavor, with just the perfect hint of sourness. I love filling them with cheese and poached eggs.

But slipping into habits like these can leave one partner feeling as if they are carrying the bulk of the mental load, he said. The father and content creator based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, has been sharing his experiences trying to divide the mental load — those tasks that take planning, preparation and keeping track to maintain the family — more equally with his wife. Men are starting to hold themselves accountable, and like Watson, going online to teach other men to take on more of the mental load. So many of them say, ‘This is exactly why I divorced my husband,’” referring to the inequality of the mental load one partner can experience in keeping a relationship or family going. “If mental load is universally understood, accepted and appreciated, I think we will live in a very different world,” Watson said.

My family of 5 stayed in two family rooms on the Amtrak Auto Train from Florida to Virginia. Our family rooms felt spacious — they were the width of the train with large picture windows on both sides. We didn't have private showers, sinks, or toilets in the rooms, but there were communal bathrooms nearby in our train car. Our $3,100 train trip was more expensive than what we'd have spent on gas, hotels, and food during a road trip from Florida to Virginia. Next time, we'll book one family cabin and an adjacent roomette, a move that would've saved us about $630.

Teaching remotely, Ms. Adams put the money that she saved by not commuting toward trying out recipes for vegan muffins, reduced-sugar cookies and low-carb pizzas. A few months ago, Ms. Adams received a newsletter from her landlord, the New York City Housing Authority, which announced a new competition for entrepreneurs living in public housing. It offered cash prizes of up to $20,000 and free business development classes. “I thought it was fake,” Ms. Adams said. She called the housing authority to make sure it was real.
