MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. — A Kentucky woman who was arrested after police found her mother’s dismembered body in her yard was indicted on a murder charge Monday. After obtaining a warrant, they arrested Torilena Fields, 32, and charged her with abuse of a corpse, evidence tampering and obstruction. A view of a home in Robertson County, Ky., where a woman was arrested after parts of her mother's body were found outside the property. Trudy Fields was killed between Oct. 8 and 9, the indictment said. The indictment said they were Trudy Fields’ remains.

The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday reinstated the state’s six-week abortion ban while it reviews an appeal from the state of a lower court ruling that had struck down the law. The state Supreme Court's decision, however, left in place the lower court’s ruling blocking a separate provision of the law that had given state prosecutors broad access to the medical records of abortion patients without due process protections. The state's near-total abortion ban, known as the LIFE Act, was signed by Republican Gov. The storm is quickly strengthening, already boasting winds of 65 mph, according to an update Sunday morning from the National Hurricane Center.
