CNN —Tempers flared between two of the NBA’s biggest stars on Sunday as 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown called Giannis Antetokounmpo “a child” after the Milwaukee Bucks forward jokingly offered him a fake handshake during the Boston Celtics’ comeback win. The controversy began early in the second quarter when Antetokounmpo caught Brown in the face with an elbow, picking up an offensive foul. Laughing and smiling, Antetokounmpo offered another high-five. “Giannis is a child,” Brown told NBC Sports Boston after the game. CNN —President-elect Donald Trump announced Sunday night that Tom Homan, who served as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in his last administration, will be in charge of the nation’s borders. CNN reported earlier Sunday that Trump was expected to tap Homan to serve in a czar-like role. Immigration was a cornerstone of Trump’s 2024 campaign, and he repeatedly vowed to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. In a sign of his influence in Trump’s orbit, Homan spoke at the Republican National Convention in July. “You’re damn right.”A career law enforcement officer, Homan served as the public face of the first Trump administration’s aggressive efforts to step up immigration enforcement before retiring in 2018.

Bomb threats sent to polling places and ballot-counting locations in at least five battleground states across the U.S. Tuesday targeted mostly Democratic counties, an NBC News analysis has found. Of the 67 locations, 56 were in 11 counties that voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election, including the eight most populated. Those high-population Democratic counties include voting locations for Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Detroit, Michigan; Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Maricopa County, Arizona, which Biden won by a slim margin, has consistently been the subject of election denialism conspiracy theories. Some of the threats also included counties that voted heavily for Donald Trump in 2020, including the comparatively smaller Blair and Clearfield Counties in Pennsylvania.

Voters in Dearborn, America's only Arab-majority city, broke decisively for Trump over Harris, a departure from Joe Biden’s beating Trump there in 2020. "I was really praying that she would get it," said Deborah McKinnon, 68, a Black Democratic voter from Pittsburgh. "It just underscores that Black women are the most loyal Democrats, and they were the power behind Kamala Harris' campaign," Allison said. Polling in the lead-up to Election Day had showed Harris and Trump locked in a tight race within the margin of error in Wisconsin, similar to other battleground states. Republicans flipped another Democratic-held seat in a state Trump carried easily, West Virginia, on Tuesday and were aiming to capture another in Montana. Moreno’s victory also ends, for now, the 50-year political career of Brown, first elected as a state representative in the post-Watergate era. For decades Brown had fashioned himself as an unapologetic liberal and progressive tightly aligned with working-class voters, particularly organized labor. The messaging strategy, rooted in Trump’s Buckeye State popularity, bolstered Moreno even as Brown and the Democrats sought to exploit his shortcomings.

Bomb threats were reported across five key battleground states, both to polling places and government offices where votes are counted. The FBI, which engaged with local and state officials, confirmed that some of the threats originated from Russian email domains. “There were no major issues across the state” in the election process, said Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar. Here's a look at some of the key counties to watch across the seven presidential battleground states, ordered by the state's final poll closing time (in Eastern Standard Time). Mitt Romney won more than 80% in Forsyth in 2012, but Trump won just two-thirds of the vote there eight years later. In 2020, Joe Biden won this county by only 4 points over Trump, while Hillary Clinton carried it by 13 points in 2016. While Trump won it by 3 points in 2016, Biden won Maricopa by 2 points four years later. And that Democratic gain helped the party flip Wisconsin in 2020, given that Biden won the state by just 20,000 votes.

Trump referenced that rally during his speech in Raleigh on Monday, estimating the crowd inside to be 28,000. The crowd for Trump's speech was estimated to be around 53,000, according to the House committee investigating the riot. Harris's campaign said that around 75,000 people attended her speech last week at the same site as Trump's Jan. 6 speech. When she was interrupted by pro-Trump protesters at a rally in Wisconsin last month, she told them they should "go to the smaller rally down the street." The smaller crowd sizes with less enthusiastic participants so close to Election Day have surprised some Republicans, but it's unclear what the cause — and the significance — is, and if it's evidence of less momentum for his campaign.
