The Folly Joshua Tree is an off-grid, two structure space designed by Malek Alqadi. Alqadi and business partner Hillary Flur had prior success renting their Los Angeles apartments on Airbnb. Then in 2016, Alqadi and Flur finally landed on 2.5 acres in Joshua Tree after one of Flur's colleagues told her they were buying property there. Alqadi and Flur purchased the off-grid, rundown homestead for $15,000 and got to work on renovating the property. This one-of-a-kind property took approximately a year to complete.

Nate Matos is a Turo host based in Miami. He started by renting his own car on the platform, then bought a second vehicle just for renting. I decided to become a Turo host after listening to Earn Your Leisure, a financial education podcast, about two years ago. The podcast brings on a lot of guests to speak about different aspects of business, finance, and entrepreneurship, and I saw an episode with someone who was sharing his experience with Turo car rentals. I did make some mistakes on Turo initiallyFor example, at first, I had both of my cars on Turo.
The Arctic Hideaway, located in northern Norway, was created by composer Håvard Lund. The village has all the functions of a normal home but is split into multiple structures. Guests at the Airbnb can see wildlife like birds and otters, and a view of the Northern Lights. "Despite my in-depth description on Airbnb, I still have bookings from people who don't read one word and just see the pictures and come. "People breathe differently and see natural phenomena that they won't see if they're indoors," like birds, sea otters, and the Northern Lights, Lund said.

I became an Airbnb host after I bought a tiny house and parked it on the side of my home in Oakland, California. Before the tiny house, I had converted my garage into a studio. I had a long-term tenant there already, and getting the tiny house was my attempt to make a little extra income on Airbnb. I think the popularity of tiny homes and the minimalist movement, along with my low pricing, helped attract Airbnb viewers. Since I had extra space, I decided to buy another tiny house for $35,000I call it The Tiny Heauxtel, and I bought it in 2021.
Keller participated in the Disney College program four times, working at the parks as a student. When I was 12 years old, I learned about the Disney College Program. When I got older, I learned that travel and tourism was a college degree programI went that route for my bachelor's and master's degrees while in the Disney College Program. I was there until the following August, then went back to Florida to do the Disney College Program again while I started graduate school. I had to apply for the Disney College Program each time, so I learned the process wellThe college program application just requests super basic information from you — it's not one of those long, 100-question type things.
Håvard Lund is the owner of an "arctic hideaway" Airbnb in Gildeskål, Nordland, Norway. Lund's Airbnb is a village of tiny houses, where guests can see wildlife and the Northern Lights. As a host, we have the ability to set the price of our cleaning feeThe cleaning fee is an extra cost on top of the nightly rate to address the cleaning costs for the home. When we upped our cleaning fees, we doubled the number of cleaning professionalsThat helped with cleanliness, but then we lost bookings because of the high cleaning fees. When we reduced our cleaning fees to their original price, we upped our nightly ratesTo offset any unforeseen cleaning costs, we raised rates by $70 per night. We ask our guests to do 2 chores before they leaveThis helps keep costs down and maintain the excellent condition of the property for future guests. Courtesy of Michelle BursonSecond, we ask that guests take some measures to help out the cleaning professionals who come in after their departure, which also helps us keep our cleaning costs down.
Hillary Flur, 31, is the owner of an off-the-grid Airbnb in Joshua Tree, California. Then I heard about Airbnb, and I thought to myself: "I'm going to Airbnb my apartment so I can afford rent." Malek and I would work from Monday to Friday in our office, and then on the weekends we would drive out to Joshua Tree and start building. Since we started renting the property in late 2016, unique Airbnbs in Joshua Tree have grown in popularity. For people who're trying to do Airbnb in Joshua Tree now, it can be pretty hard to find something affordable.
The light exhibit is an important event for the zoo, which is a nonprofit, because it's our largest fundraiser. Ultimately, a position opened up on the ZooLights team and he thought I'd be a good fit, so I ended up applying and got the job. By June 1, the ZooLights team is starting to install all the lights and armatures. ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo is an important event because it’s its largest fundraiser. It's also an important event for the zoo because it's our largest fundraiser.
I'm an aspiring dancer and actor, and I auditioned for the Christmas elf role in early October through my school. I'm working as a holiday elf at Enchant, a holiday celebration sponsored by the Hallmark Channel in eight U.S. cities. Enchant Christmas features a 100-foot Christmas tree and a maze where guests can find sculptures of each of the nine reindeer. Enchant Christmas ScottsdaleWe also tell the kids stories about how we got to the Phoenix area from the North Pole. My friends and family have come to see me at work s so it's a great experience all around.

One of the biggest things I would recommend for people who haven't cruised before is finding a travel agent or advisor who specializes in cruisesEven with me being in the industry for as long as I have, having a travel agent is helpful. I decided to use a travel agent because I didn't want all the guests calling me, but this travel agent was with a bigger agency and the experience was awful. Travel agents don't cost money — they make their commissions from the ships and travel insurance agencies or tour companies. Travel insurance is also great because it covers anything from medical issues to trip interruption or even theftI'd never had travel insurance until my travel agent educated me on it, but it's been helpful already. I had my phone stolen in Paris last year and my travel insurance covered it.
Will Coss is the executive producer of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Coss said the feeling on parade morning is indescribable unless you're there. Being the executive producer of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a dream role. Now, I'm about to lead the team through what will be my second Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is a true honor. The preparation for an event like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a year-long processI joke sometimes by saying that the day after the parade is when we start planning next year's parade, but there's a lot of truth in that statement.
Sandi Croft and her husband own tiny homes, teepees, and a wagon that they rent out on Airbnb. Croft enjoys offering these unique living experiences on the Sandy Valley Ranch in Nevada. We now mange six Airbnbs on Sandy Valley Ranch in Nevada. He loved doing that, so he told me he wanted to build a tiny house. After building that second tiny house on HGTV, we put it on Airbnb.
Magic Kingdom guests are often there for the first time, so that's where the wild stuff happens. I started at Disney World in the fall of 2014 as part of the Disney College Program, where I worked in attractions at Epcot. That December I graduated, so I applied for the Disneyland college program and got to check out the other coast. Magic Kingdom was the only place where I saw crazy things happen. Eva KellerI think it's because Magic Kingdom is the main park.
Kelly Fitzsimmons is the owner of Light Up Your Holidays, a holiday decorating service in Chicago. We decorate the exteriors of homes for Christmas and other holidays, like Halloween, which is becoming increasingly popular in our business. He told me about how he'd get super busy in September and October because of holiday decorating. Now, about 20% of my clients decorate for Halloween. I urge people to relinquish the competitive spirit around holiday decorating.
As a kid, Jeffrey Schiefelbein loved the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. People ask how I got into it, and it all goes back to when I was younger and was inspired by the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland. I went on the Haunted Mansion ride and started taking thousands of photographs to recreate all the elements from the ride. I wanted it to look like the actual house — not a house with Haunted Mansion memorabilia in it. For the people like me who are obsessed with Disney and the Haunted Mansion.
Bahouth once made a joke about the old tree while sitting on the deck, saying, "I'm going to turn him into a table and we'll be able to put our drinks here and see each other." The next day, another tree fell inches from the house. Bahouth said he doesn't make that joke anymore. Alex Martinez
He started renting the unique home on Airbnb and now has guests booked two years in advance. The Airbnb has become so popular that Bahouth was able leave his job and pursue hosting full-time. I built my treehouses 24 years ago, and I never imagined them as an Airbnb. Then I said to myself, "You know what, there's one way to get out there, and that's to build that treehouse." That's the only way you can survive in this, and that's why I'm doing fine financially.

Stephanie Monroe owns a "dome house" Airbnb with her husband in Joshua Tree, California. But in 2020, we decided to branch into Airbnb ownership and bought our "Serenity Dome House," as we call it, in Joshua Tree, California, right before the pandemic as a deferred retirement job. There's also a lack of long-term rentals in Joshua Tree, so there's a labor shortage. Additionally, we've been doing a lot of remodeling and decoratingWe built from the ground up a two-bedroom addition to the dome house. Since taking over the property, we've put a lot of thought into how to make it better and more profitable.
"If someone's looking at your résumé, they're not looking at it for very long unless it's grabbing their attention, so you want to keep it fresh and relevant," Vega added. "My background is in marketing, so I think of keywords as SEO for your résumé," Vega said. so know there's nothing wrong with explaining that on your résumé," Vega said. "Especially if it's relevant to the job you're applying for. For example, Vega cautioned against including your location on your résumé if you're in a different time zone than the job you're applying for.
She hustled her way into building a business by going to trade shows and getting into wholesale. Our gross sales went from about $27,000 a month to $78,000 a month. It's just now kind of stabilized again by getting us close to our pre-pandemic sales of $80,000 to $100,000 per month. She responded and said, "You won't believe it, but my business partner also owns a space by the original Postino restaurant." It turned out that Scottsdale space resembled our Dallas space.
