CNN —Ollie Watkins’ brilliant last-gasp winner earned England a 2-1 win over the Netherlands and a place in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final. Awaiting England in Sunday’s final is the formidable foe of Spain, which has been unequivocally the best team of Euro 2024 so far. After only seven minutes, Simons – named after Barcelona great Xavi Hernández – dispossessed Declan Rice in midfield and stormed towards the England penalty area, before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Jordan Pickford and into the top corner. Foden, who was having by far his best game of the tournament, then hit the woodwork himself as the post denied the Manchester City forward a stunning curled effort. England has known little more than disappointment and heartbreak since winning the World Cup in 1966, Southgate more than most.

It is their second consecutive European Championship final, and the first time England have reached a major tournament final abroad. Denzel Dumfries catching Kane was deemed a penalty, despite the Netherlands defender having little choice but to attempt a block. Against the Netherlands, Rice dropped into similar positions but was far more willing to punch balls forward and look for those ahead of him. Watkins’ stunning winner — set up by Palmer — validated Southgate’s decision yet again, with a goal worthy of winning any game.

CNN —An exquisite injury-time goal from Jude Bellingham handed England a dramatic lifeline in a 2-1 victory against Slovakia at Euro 2024. Harry Kane’s goal soon after completed the remarkable comeback and saved England from what would have been an embarrassing defeat. The Three Lions will now face Switzerland in the quarterfinals on July 6 and will need a much-improved performance in order to progress in the tournament. Schranz’s goal put Slovakia ahead midway through the first half at Gelsenkirchen’s Arena AufSchalke, and despite dominating possession from that point, England remained frustrated for much of the contest. Indeed, Bellingham’s acrobatic goal was the team’s first shot on target – a moment of magic in what was otherwise a lackluster performance.

The British megastar is just one of several celebrities whose image has been recreated using ingredients like rice, salmon and pickled ginger by British food artist Michelle Wibowo. Wibowo puts the finishing touches to Sheeran, whose pun-y likeness is pictured alongside "Eelton" John and British TV host Alison "Salmond" Hammond.
