The Dave Matthews Band is on tour, as they have been every summer, except 2020, for the past 30-odd years. Like the Grateful Dead and Phish, so-called jam bands with which it’s often lumped together, Dave Matthews has a deliriously passionate fan base that follows the band from city to city, reuniting with fellow disciples at preshow tailgates, showing off devotional tattoos, trading live recordings. In the early ’90s, when I arrived for my first year at the University of Virginia, Dave Matthews was a local celebrity. It would be years before the stereotype of Dave Matthews fans as “pot-smoking, tie-dye-touting former frat bros fawning over craft beers in parking lots between cornhole games,” as Perri Ormont Blumberg puts it, would become a widely understood social designation. We spent the next four years not going to Dave Matthews Band shows together.

She chose St Andrew's University in Scotland because in four years she'd finish with a master's. She attended the University of St Andrews, in Scotland, from 2017 to 2021. I'm a college student at a university in Scotland who's studying abroad in California right now. I was surprised to learn that frat parties are fun and going to bars is better here in the US. Back in the UK, college sports matches weren't popular among my friends. But I quickly learned frat parties aren't so bad. Moreover, the "mean girls" I expected to meet at frat parties have yet to make an appearance for me.
Equity Residential, the company he founded decades ago, did not provide a cause of death but described Zell as an “iconic figure in real estate and throughout the corporate world.”Among his wide-ranging portfolio of investments were distressed assets in real estate and in media, including an ultimately disastrous bet on the Tribune Company. Zell had a personal net worth of $5.9 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Zell had a penchant for scooping up cheap real estate and selling it later at a profit, a strategy he outlined in a 1978 article titled “The Grave Dancer,” which became his nickname in the industry. But Zell’s impressive track record of successful bets was marred by a brief, unsuccessful foray into media in 2007 when he orchestrated the $8.2 billion leveraged buyout of Tribune Company. In 2018, during the rise of the #MeToo movement, Zell sparked outrage by making a lewd comment about hiring women.
When my dog started behaving protective around me, I wondered what was going on. Winston started choosing me to cuddle with, hopping on to our couch and sitting on my feet to keep them warm. How to help prepare your dog for your new babyYour dog may or may not be aware of an impending arrival. WHEN NEW YORK CITY comedian Jared Freid appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” this fall, he recounted that, back in college, he and his friends would layer on several colorful polo shirts, collars popped—a fashion choice that left Mr. Freid resembling what he ruefully called “an aggressive tulip.”When it comes to layering clothing—that stylist-approved way to keep warm come winter and spruce up the separates in your wardrobe by combining them in fresh ways—it’s easy to mess up even if you’ve never been a noughties frat boy. Done thoughtlessly, it can leave you looking like Joey in the “Friends” episode when he dons every single article of clothing that Chandler owns. Here, five common problems that inept layerers run into—and what to do instead.

Jordan Belfort, the ex-trader dubbed the "Wolf of Wall Street," says Sam Bankman-Fried should "shut up." Speaking to Fox News, Belfort said that Bankman-Fried has "diarrhea of the mouth." Bankman-Fried gave numerous interviews after FTX's collapse, despite his lawyers saying he shouldn't. His lawyers argued for $250,000 bail because Bankman-Fried kept to a vegan diet, and took multiple medications such as Adderall. Referencing reports that FTX executives were roommates who dated each other, Belfort said: "It's more like a frat house than a business."
On Sunday, a Washington Post headline seemed to herald a small victory for office employees everywhere: "French man wins right to not be 'fun' at work." No longer will we have to show up and smile for what our bosses call "fun" and what the rest of us call "mandatory." Our Gallic hero didn't simply refuse to attend the holiday cookie swap in the conference room. With that context, it's no surprise the courts ruled he had a "fundamental freedom" to sit out such social events. But WaPo's headline raises an interesting question: How "fun" do you actually have to be in the workplace?
The Microsoft executive walked into the small, windowless room in Studio C at about 8 o'clock that evening. Despite Nadella's public stance against those he has called "talented jerks," many inside the company say Microsoft retains a nearly unlimited tolerance for bad behavior by its top rainmakers and developers. "The Microsoft of 2021 is very different from the Microsoft of 2000 to me and to everyone at Microsoft," Nadella said. But some women say the investigations drag on for months or even years, with no clear timeline for resolution. What's more, some employees say Microsoft's efforts to promote racial equity often smack of tokenism.

After a bombshell lawsuit was filed by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing against video game company Activision Blizzard on Tuesday, influencer partners are reeling. Blizzard was founded in 1991 and has created some of the most popular franchises in video game lore, like "Warcraft," "Starcraft," and "Diablo." The company and its work have attained legendary status in the video game world. Twitch streamer Asmongold, who has 2.3 million followers, commented in a Twitter video that many Blizzard streamers specialize in a single video game.
